Peanuts and Cracker Jack
Disclaimer: I do not own either of the canon characters; they belong to Nintendo and any other respective owners. Based on the baseball game my sister and I attended together two weeks ago and the drabble prompt: "That's starting to get annoying."
Word Count: 206
"Red! Red! Red! Red! Reeeeedddd!" the opposing team chants, slamming their hands and feet against the dugout.
"That's starting to get annoying," Jerome 'Doc' Louis groans as he stares at the players clothed in red and black. "Are they ever gonna shut their traps? I can barely hear the umpire!" the once heavyweight champion of the world loudly complains from the bleachers.
"I'd say that's unlikely. Sorry, Doc; I thought this would be a fun break from training," Little Mac apologizes as he grabs another handful of popcorn. "I had no idea it'd be this bad," the newest boxer of the WVBA admits with a slight laugh as the home team misses another easy catch.
"No, no, son! This is great! I'm glad we're spendin' time out of the gym and in the warm spring air," Doc assures, clapping Mac over the shoulder as they both grin. "Still hopin' to catch a foul ball, though," the boxing legend chuckles.
"Shouldn't be too hard with these boys," Mac laughs. "I used to play for this team while I was in school."
"No kiddin'? What position, kid?" Doc inquires.
"First base. I was unstoppable!" Mac grins widely.
"I hear that. Be right back. That chocolate's callin' my name!"
Author's Note: And there it is! My first Punch-Out story! Okay, so when the version for Wii was first released in 2008, I was eight-years-old and LOVED playing it. Every weekend, I would play for hours, doing my best to get Little Mac through the circuits. Then, when I was about eleven or twelve, our Wii's disc tray broke and wouldn't read discs anymore. So, I've been without a Wii for nearly six or seven years until I bought one in September of this year for around $40. I still, fortunately, have all the games from back then, and so when I got the new Wii, the first game I played was Punch-Out, naturally. I love the father-son relationship Doc and Little Mac has, so expect more drabbles centered around the pair of them from me! I may also eventually write a Little Mac X OC story if I get the time. Anyway, that's all I have to say for now. I hope you all enjoyed! As always, reviews are appreciated. Until next time, dear readers! Have an amazing day, afternoon, or night!
P.S. The high school baseball game my sister and I went to see at her school had the opposing team in red and black and they did exactly what I made this team did. I felt like my ears were being assaulted, and much like Doc, I was angry that I couldn't hear umpire. Thus, this story was born when I saw that prompt after the game! Lol.
