As I approached the line of cars, their stop signals blazed on, almost in unison. Reacting quickly, I pressed my brake.

The car began skidding. Slamming into the car in front taking us both sliding along the interstate. I wrenched the wheel to the right. Sliding and fishtailing along the line of cars on the shoulder. Once again I turned the wheel to the right, careening onto the grassy, mud covered slope away from the road, taking the other car with me.

I reached the bottom of the ditch and felt the nose impact, then the sickening feeling of the entire car lifting and turning in an almost end over end flip. The roof impacted first sending me hard against the seat belt shoulder strap and smashing my head into the roof, which was now several inches closer. The car finished its flip and landed facing the interstate.

The pain was intense. It flooded me from the top of my head, down my neck to the middle of my back. Slowly I became aware of my surroundings. The radio was still playing and the engine was racing.

I switched the car off and took it out of gear. The snapping and grinding noises from the shifter told me the transaxle was shot. I turned the radio off and sat still, seeing if I could still contact toes, feet and legs.

I could hear the hiss of escaping coolant from the smashed radiator. All of the windows were gone or smashed, except the rear window, which was miraculously intact.

Sophia *My head spinning from the collision,my car sitting at an angle only two wheels meeting the ground,my head buzzing from the slam it took against the window, blood spilling down my neck*

Alex *Slowly I turn looking over at the other vehicle,I push open the jammed door having to use force to move it open,I climb from the wreckage, head spinning as I stand,I approach the other accident* Are you ok? *The rain pounding down soaking me within seconds,I can see the driver of the other vehicle is hurt,I start pulling on the door wrenching it open*

Sophia*Your voice echos as you pull open the door,I look up at you seeing your lips move, but unable to focus on them long enough to know what your saying. My seatbelt pinning me to the spot,I try to move it,to drag myself free,as I look down I see the blood running down my arm, over the bone that is now protruding through my skin*

Alex *I reach across you pulling the seatbelt from you,and lifting you from the vehicle. Getting us both a safe distance from the collision and resting you down on the ground. I rush back to my vehicle searching the floor for my cell which has fallen from my pocket during the flip*

Sophia *My head realing from the crash, blood soaking my clothes,I watch as you run to your car. Holding my arm still,a sickly feeling taking over my body as I look down at the bone which has broken clean through my flesh. My head buzzing, ringing floods my ears.*

Alex *Finds my cell, running back over to you, kneeling down, seeing how badly injured you are* Ma'am im going to get us out of here, your going to be ok..*As I pull open my cell the earpiece falls away in my hand, gets up throwing it towards the wreckage* God damn it!

Sophia *As you get up I notice the blood dripping down your leg. I motion to you to look starting to resinate throughout my body. I grip my arm tight*

Alex *Looks down blood covering the leg of my jeans, feels the pain for the first time. Ripping my tshirt I tie a tourniquet around your arm holding it in place. Then one around my leg. I rush back to my smashed up vehicle, returning with my jacket I lay you down resting your head on it* Im going to get help..*Pulls myself up the embankement signalling for the passing vehicles to stop*

Sophia *I lay there, the rain crashing down onto me. I watch as you limp away assuming your going for help, still unable to hear your voice, the ringing in my ears worse. Lifting my one good arm to my stinging head holding my hand against it,the warm thick liquid covering my fingers,I pull my hand away looking at the blood sliding down my hand over my arm,and everything goes black*
