Thorin One-Shot

I do not own The Hobbit in any way.

A/N-I'm currently reading the Hobbit and this came to me after reading about the dwarves' capture in Mirkwood.

She was in the throne room with her father when Thorin was brought in.

Thorin, who did not care for elf maidens, could not deny her beauty.

She had wide, innocent, curious blue eyes and the white hair of her father.

"What are you doing in my forest?" Thranduil asked.

Thorin said nothing.

"Very well, if he will not talk, throw him in the dungeon. I can wait a hundred years. A hundred years is a mere blink in the life of an elf. I'm patient", Thranduil said.

When Thorin was taken away, her eyes followed him.

Her father turned to her and said, "You are not to go into the dungeons. Am I understood?"

"Yes father", she said, but her curiosity had already been sparked.

Legolas could see it in her eyes. Legolas couldn't exactly blame his sister though; she had spent her whole life in the palace.

A few days into Thorin and the dwarves captivity, she ventured down into the dungeons just to catch a glimpse of the Dwarven Prince.

She quietly walked up to his cell, where he slept.

Thorin stirred and was shocked to find the princess standing outside his cell. "What do you want? Come to mock me have you? Thorin asked.

"No", she said, her voice light and airy.

"What are you doing here!?" a voice hissed in elvish. She turned and found her brother Legolas.

"Father told you not to come down here", he said.

"I am sorry Legolas. I was simply curious", she said.

"Get upstairs and don't come back here", Legolas said pushing her towards the stairs.

This would not be the last time she saw Thorin.

One day, when both her father and brother were out hunting, she ventured down into the dungeons again.

On her way there, she ran into something.

A small man suddenly appeared, shocking her.

"What are you?" she asked him curiously.

"I am a Hobbit miss, a Halfling. Bilbo Baggins of the Shire", he said.

"What are you doing?" she asked.

Bilbo thought twice about telling her, but from the innocent look in her eyes, he knew he could trust her. "I have come to free my friends", he said.

"The dwarves?" she asked and Bilbo nodded. "Then I shall help you", she said.

"Really?" Bilbo asked, "Why?"

"Because my father can be quite stubborn. He doesn't trust many people, especially dwarves", she told him.

Together, they got all the dwarves out their cells.

"Thank you", Thorin said.

"My pleasure Prince Thorin Oakenshield", she said, "Now hurry. You must go before the guards realize you're gone".

When Thranduil realized the dwarves were gone, he went straight to his daughter. "Did you have anything to do with this?" he asked her.

"Of course not Ada", she said, "You told me to stay out of the dungeons".

One look into her blue eyes and Thranduil believed her beautifully performed lie.

Her brother, on the other hand, was able to see past her innocent façade, but said nothing.

She never quite agreed with the way their father ruled. She merely thought she was doing the right thing.

Up until the day Thorin died, he was ever grateful to the young Elven princess who saved his life.
