A/N: I don't own the Following or any of the characters. They belong to Fox and the creators. I thought about this after watching the ending scene of Season 2's episode the Sacrifice and it's what I think that Ryan is thinking while comforting Mike after they watch the video of Mike's father get killed by Lilly Grey.
I quickly followed Mike out of the office and I found him sitting on the steps. I slowly walked down the stairs "Mike?" I asked. I sat down next to him and pulled his head into my lap. "He's gone, Oh my God, he's gone." I heard Mike say as he tried to sit up. I pulled him back down as he continued to sob. As I sat there holding the man that has become my best friend cry the only thing that I could think of was the fact that Lilly was going to pay for the pain that she caused Mike to feel.
As Mike started to calm down and was able to sit up and started to hiccup his tears, I looked at him with a fire that I haven't felt since I found out that Claire died. "Listen to me, Mike." I said as Mike was still trying to quiet down his tears. "I'm going to do everything in my power to help you find Lilly and make sure that she pays for killing your father and making you hurt like this."
Mike looked at me and nodded his head. "Thanks Ryan. I don't know what I would've done if you weren't here to help me through this event in my life."
I held him tight and said "I feel the same way about you."
A/N II: I know that the characters are out of characters, but I wanted to share what I thought would've ended the episode this way.
