Please R&R! :)

Hello everyone! This is just a one-shot story.

I did fix some of the plot-holes my two reviews pointed out. And yes, Violetfangs, I did fix my title! :)

Disclaimer: These are not my characters!

I woke with a start.

I jumped into standard fighting position and listened.

There was no sound. Not a single sound. It was quiet. Too quiet.

I realized that my hands felt wet and sticky. I looked down. I could sense that they were covered in something red.

Blood.

But whose?

I listened again. This time I heard a soft whoosh. I spun around still ready to fight.

"Iggy!" A voice said.

"Who are you! What do you want!" I asked, my voice raising in awareness.

"Iggy, it's Max." the voice replied.

I didn't recognize her voice. "No you're not. I don't know you."

"Iggy, it's Max. It really is." the voice said soothingly, coming towards me.

I was ready and now felt anger growing inside me. I'm not sure where the anger came from, but it was growing.

"Iggy, it's okay. It's just me, Max."

I was ready for her, just one step closer... "No, you're not!" I yelled, punching "Max" in the nose. I let out some of my anger in that punch too.

"Ow! Iggy!" the voice shouted. She stumbled back a bit from shock while yelling, "If you want to know its me then try me! I can fight too!" The owner of the voice was now also in a fighting position.

"If you really are Max, then you would be able to tell me when my birthday is."

"It's November 11th!" the voice replied, still yelling, though not quite as loud.

"Okay, then you would know how old I am."

"You're 16." The voice said, calmer now.

"Nope wrong! I'm 15!" I took a step forward getting ready to deliver another punch.

"No Iggy, you're not! You've been gone for almost a year. Disappeared."

I lowered my hand, then I started yelling, "If you were Max, you would know the day I became blind! You would know the look of horror on my face as the whitecoat took me away saying something about experimenting on my eyes! You would know how long I cried after being put back in my dog crate. You would know... you would know..." My voice faltered as a wet tear ran down my cheek.

"Iggy, I do know, but it's just as hard on me to remember that day as it is for you... I...I..." Max cooed soothingly, her voice faltering too. Now I knew it was Max, I finally recognized her voice.

I immediately recognized her touch as she gently lowered me to the ground in a sitting position.

Max sat next to me. She started whispering, trying to take my mind off of me being blind, and that day... that awful day.

"Oh, Iggy. How did you manage on your own? I guess I trained you well enough, as there was a clearing full of dead Erasers a while back. No-wonder you're covered in blood. I'm just glad you survived a year away from the Flock after the Erasers took you." Her voice was getting softer and softer, clearly failing at not thinking about that horrible day.

I realized I was trying to hold back tears, like I always did. I was tired of holding back tears. Max rested my head on her shoulder and rapped an arm around my shoulders, comforting me. I let a tear slide down my face. Then I felt a tear land on my hair. Max's. She was crying too. I didn't hold back the tears anymore.

I let them fall.
