I woke up. It was another, bright summer morning. It was a Sunday, so I decided to go and meet my friends. They were all there, in the playground with their Digimon. Seeing them, made me think of Leomon again. I shook my head, clearing my thoughts. Leomon wouldn't have wanted me doing this. But still, I couldn't help but remember all the times we spent together, during the time I had my Digivice. I put my hands in my pocket, and was surprised when I felt something.
I looked at my hand. It was a Digivice. The same one I used to have.
Impossible, I thought. I hurried up to join my friends. Surprisingly, they were all in one circle, discusiing something serious. Rika saw me coming, and said,
"Hi Jeri. Impmon's found something weird." I looked down. Indeed, Impmon was there. He then said to me,
"There have been some strange happenings in the Digital World. There have been rumours going around about the 'Nest' coming back or something." Impmon said.
"What's the 'nest'?" I asked. Were there some bug Digimon readying themselves to attack us?
"I don't know. But, we should check it out." Takato said.
"Well, we can't just go charging in again." Henry said. So, we made a plan to go next week. When I went back home, I realised that I hadn't told them about my Digivice.
Strangely, it wasn't fuzzing like a television with no signal. Rather, there was a picture of an egg. I stared at it wondering. The week went by swiftly. Nothing out of the ordinary happened, except that my Digivice still kept showing the egg. Before I knew it, it was Sunday again, and we found the tunnel leading to the Digital World. A bit too easy. Surprisingly, the moment that we went there, we weren't in any desert. We were in a grassy area. It took me a moment to realize that we were surrounded by eggs.
There were eggs of every colour. Blue, green, speckled, striped, everything. Suddenly, my Digivice began glowing. A beam of light shone from it to an egg. It was brown, with black stripes on it.
I bent over and touched it. The moment that I did that, it hatched. I stared at my Digivice. It was know showing the picture of a Digimon that was brown, and had one antenna on its head.
"Good morning Jeri. It's nice to see you again." The Digimon said.
"Who, who are you?" I asked.
"Ah, I knew you once. Back when I was grown. I am Leomon."
"Wait, what?" "Let me explaing." Impmon said. "I think I've figured this out. The 'nest' is a tale often told among Digimon. It was a place, where if a Digimon's data remained intact, it would come again as an egg. Rumours were that it was destroyed, but perhaps it's managed to rebuild itself."
"But, didn't you absorb Leomon?" Henry asked.
"Yes, but then I de-digivolved, so the data probably fixed itself. Or, maybe, part of it was saved in your Digivice." Impmon explained.
I stared at the creature. So what if it was unevolved. I carried it in my arms, a smile spreading across my face, wider than I had smiled in the last few months.
The End.
A/N Disappointing, how Jeri never got Leomon back in the series. I liked the rest, but I wish Leomon had regenerated. At least he has in my ending!
