It was the beginning of February. It would almost be Valentine's Day. A time when couples in the Mushroom Kingdom got together with their significant other to celebrate their love.

Mario was trying to create plans to sweep Princess Peach off her feet in a few days. Mario was sitting down eating a plate of spaghetti with meat sauce trying to think of a plan, and hoping Bowser wouldn't kidnap her that day. He looked up at the big picture of the princess that he kept in his house. It was quite strange that an upper-class princess was dating a plumber, even if that plumber had a second job as a superstar. What would she want to do? He could take her to that big fancy restaurant, Le Champignon. Maybe he could take her to the Paper Mushroom Kingdom so she could meet up with Paper Peach again...then again, it wouldn't be much of a date after that. They could just go out for a few friendly games of tennis. The two were known to be great players, especially since they invented the Ultra Smash move.

He tried to take another bite when he realized he had finished his plate. Maybe he could think better with some fresh air. He grabbed a canoli and walked outside. Ironically, Sunbeam Plains looked beautiful at night. Maybe he should take her out star gazing. Or maybe go to the stars with help from Rosalina and go planet gazing. Or maybe they could go to Peach's garden and eat peaches. She loves them so much, that her parents named her after one. Mario kept walking around until he saw the Toad village for Sunbeam plains. There was a little orphanage for Toads who have no parents. Then Mario saw Peach drive up in her Birthday Girl. She walked out with Toadsworth escorting her. She was giving a bunch of golden coins to help out the orphaned toads.

Mario didn't know what he liked most about her. Maybe it was her kindness, her beauty or her personality. But there was just something appealing about her. When Peach left this orphanage, she noticed Mario. "Mario, fancy meeting you here." Toadsworth added, "I agree. Wonderful to see you Master Mario." That was Toadsworth all right. He's been calling Mario that since he was a baby. He didn't remember it when he was young, but he did from that big time travel adventure. "I'm-a doing great. How are you two?" Princess Peach replied, "We are doing wonderful. Just giving a better life to the poor child Toads who don't have parents to give them the lives they deserve." Toadsworth stated, "I shall be in the kart waiting if you two love birds need me."

Mario and Peach were alone. "S-s-so you-a know, Valentine's Day is next week." "I know. Anybody who is anybody is getting some candy and flowers to celebrate the grand day. I just hope Bowser isn't planning on taking me for a date...and by that I mean kidnapping me." Mario laughed, "I'll see to it he doesn't." Peach sighed. "Why do you do it?" "Do-a what?" "Why do you go to Bowser's Castle every time to rescue me, even though you know that I will be kidnapped again?" Mario was surprised. "Peach, true love isn't just giving someone flowers and candy. It's not taking them on a lot of dates. True love is looking out for the people that you care about. Yes, it's annoying that Bowser kidnaps you a lot. But as long as I'm-a standing, I'll a keep making sure that you are safe and-a sound." Peach loved how Mario was always so sweet, even to his brother Luigi who is...Luigi.

"Thank you Mario. You always know how to make me feel better." "No-a problem. So-a, what would you like to do this Valentine's Day?" "Whatever you want. You say it and I'll do it."
