Summary: Don's thoughts of his and Charlie's relationship on a sleepless night.

It was night and the moon shone brightly through the sprinkles in the curtain of the bedroom window, sending its soft glowing light on the four poster bed where two figures lay in each others arms.

Don lay awake watching the moonlight draw small patterns on the navy blue sheets, his thoughts keeping him from sleeping. He let his eyes wander through his, no, their bedroom finally settling on the sleeping form of his lover.

He gently let his hand touch the mop of hair of curls, softly playing with one of the dark stands before running his fingers down his lover's spine smiling at the visible shivers the motion caused.

Don turned on his side facing Charlie, the man who was his little brother, friend and now lover.

He loved hearing the little soft snoozing sounds Charlie always made in is sleep. The way he always cuddle up with Don, using him as a big teddy bear, with one arm thrown across Don's broad chest and his face buried in the hollow of his throat.

Don remembered Charlie doing that from when they were kids those moments he'd let Charlie sleep in his bed after his brother woken up from on of his nightmares.

The younger man looked so sweet and innocent, so open and vulnerable, yet content because he knew that no matter what happened Don would always be there for him and protect him. Always.

They'd went through a rough time after their mother's death. Don had a hard time putting all his childhood hurt and jealousy behind him and be strong for his father and brother.

But as time passed and he'd started to take help Charlie in his work for the FBI they'd

Finally found a way to reconnect and get to know each other all over again. Don had always been the one besides their mother who could drag his brother out of his world of math and get him to eat on somewhat regular basis.

He still felt a string of guilt concerning their relationship but he knew that he couldn't or wouldn't give up what he had with Charlie, not now not ever. Though it pained him knowing what it would do to their dad if he where ever to find out, it was worth it.

It was worth risking heir careers and the possible hate and rejection from their friends and co-workers. They belonged together, heart, body and soul. Nothing could change that fact.

"I love you Charlie." Don whispered into Charlie's ear as he softly dropped a kiss on the younger man's cheek. He felt Charlie snuggle closer to his body putting his head to rest on Don's shoulder before letting sleep claim him.

As long as they had each other nothing else mattered.
