Impossible

Bring me the moon

And we shall see

Whether or not

You're worthy of me.

But if it be brought

With lasso and rope,

The Earth will flood

Leaving me with no hope.

If it is given

In pieces of stone,

No more will it wane

Or wax on its own.

If it is a picture

That I can but see,

Then you are indeed

Not worthy of me.

An impossible quest

By today even still

For no one can do it

And one never will.
