This is a scene I though of after the fight with Aizen. Seiretei is full of kids, or a least kid looking souls. Plus Toshi is lonely at times, and I bet Yachiru is as well.

I do not own Bleach.

Yachiru loved her Ken-chan. There was no doubt about it. He had saved her life, raised her. He was her father in all the ways that mattered. She loved him so much her heart might burst. But sometimes she needed a break. So taking a lengthy stroll over the rooftops of Seiretei was the one way she could relax. The men in the division were stoned, and no one was ever out at 2 in the morning, even Ken-chan.

"Yachiru."

The pink haired former menace stumbled, passing the 10th division office. A small form was on the roof of the captains office, head turned upwards. White hair glinted in the moonlight, and a flash of teal met her eyes as she arrived on the roof.

"Shiro! What are you-"

"Just go."

Yachiru frowned. That glimpse she had gotten of his eyes seemed blurred, almost wet… Yachiru made no move to leave.

The white haired boy tensed up as she sat down next to him. His face was pale, and scrunched up as he turned to the girl next to him.

"I told you to leave!" A chill crept into Yachiru's very soul, but she didn't leave.

The only other kid in the Seireitei glanced over at the girl at his side.

"Why won't you go?" He muttered. Most people would leave, most people wouldn't even come near if they saw him on the roof, preferring a less frostbitten path for their midnight wanderings. But this little girl was probably the only one who would stay. And she had nearly lost someone too.

The thought of losing Momo, because of him, had been with him for almost a month now, ever since Ichigo and Urahara had sealed Aizen away. Momo was still at the fourth, in a coma Unohana wasn't sure she would come out of. The thought of her wasting away in a coma sent physical pain racing through his heart, so much that he wasn't sure he could stand it any longer.

Matsumoto had guessed he was sure, although he kept a tight shell around his emotions during the day, especially when he went to talk to the unconscious body lying in the fourth. Unohana knew for sure, she could sense when anyone was feeling even a tiny bit off. And no the tiny pink terror was sitting next to him on the roof, in the middle of the night, without the psychotic captain trying to kill him, and no attacking him for sweets. Toshirou glanced up again and saw the small girl on his left staring at the moon, which hung in the sky, full and bright. Without looking at him, she spoke.

"You know, we younger people have to stick together." Before Toshirou could protest she continued. "You are a kid you know. You like candy, although it's hard to not like candy. You still look like a kid. Sometimes you act like one."

Toshirou was speechless. Was Yachiru really sitting next to him? The crazy 11th vice-captain?

"Hey! You're taller!" That was all he could say.

"I'm still smaller than you. But I am aging. Ken-chan won't be able to carry me soon."

"Good for you." Toshirou turned his head back up to the moon.

"You're taller too."

He ignored her, continuing to look at the moon. The full orb slowly sank, outlining their figures. Then just as the moon was touching the walls of the Seiretei, they stood and, without a word, disappeared with a flash step. But they now knew that they had to stick together, the two kids of Seiretei.
