A Night to Remember
Catherine Willows was standing in her room with dresses and shoes spread all over the bed. She had ransacked her closet looking for something to wear for the team Christmas party. "Lindsay, can you come here?" Catherine called over the banister. "Yeah mom I'm coming" Lindsay answered. "What happened here?" she asked wading through the pile on the bed and picking up a knee length black dress and matching heels. She handed them to Catherine. "I don't know, Linds, I haven't worn that one in a while." "Which is precisely why you should, come on mom just put it on" Lindsay begged. "Okay, okay" Catherine said submitting. While Catherine was putting the dress and shoes on Lindsay went over to the dresser and opened the jewelry box. She pulled out a silver necklace and the matching earrings. Catherine now had the dress on. Lindsay turned around and said "Mom you look great" and handed her the jewelry. Just then the doorbell rang. "I'll get it that way you can surprise him" Lindsay said walking down the stairs. She opened the door to Nick Stokes. "Hey Lindsay" he said. "Hi Nick- she'll be down in a minute" she said. Right on cue Catherine came down the stairs. Nick stared at her open- mouthed for literally two minutes before he said "you look gorgeous, Cath." "Thanks you don't look too bad yourself" she said "and you can close your mouth now" she added with her irresistible smile. Nick did exactly that and they walked out the door.
When they walked into the room, Sara, Greg, Ray, Doc Robbins, Wendy. Hodges and David were already there. "Hey guys" Sara said. "So you finally decided to show up" Greg added. "Hey, wait a minute Greg we're not that late" Nick said laughing. They sat down at the table. "So Sara you haven't told us about Paris yet" Catherine said. "Well, uh, it's a great city full of history…you know it's Paris" Sara answered. "How's Grissom?" Catherine asked. "He's great loves his teaching job" Sara said. "Good" Catherine said. Just then music started playing. "Cath, come dance with me" Nick said grabbing her arm and leading her toward the dance floor. Greg grabbed Sara's arm and pulled her to the dance floor despite her protests. Wendy did the same thing to a loudly protesting Hodges. The others watched. Catherine and Nick could not take their eyes off each other.

Nick felt as if she was the one woman who he wanted as his girlfriend. He was captivated by her beauty, heart, courage and intelligence. She was the perfect woman. When the music was over Nick reached into his pocket and pulled out the small box. He handed it to Catherine. She opened it and found a beautiful silver and diamond bracelet. "Nick it's beautiful" she whispered. "For the most beautiful woman I know. Cath, I love you" Nick whispered pulling her into a kiss. "I love you too, Nicky" she whispered.

The rest of the team watched and smiled. What they had been suspecting was now confirmed.
