Unsaid Things

Someone shouted from somewhere...

"Avada Kedavra"

And Hermione became still.

She collapsed at Ron's side with her eyes open and her mouth suggesting surprise.

Hermione Granger was dead.

"Nooooooooooo!" Screamed Harry and Ron as they collapsed on the floor beside her.

Ron took her head and brought it to his chest, as he sobbed into her wild bushy hair. Harry took her hand and squeezed it as hard as he could in attempt to bring her back to life.

But the truth was that she was gone.

Although the war within Hogwarts was still raging on time for Harry and Ron seemed to slow, it seemed almost to stop.

"Hermione." Ron sobbed. "You can't be gone. We need you. I need you..." he trailed off as he looked up at Harry with his tear laden blue eyes.

Harry gave a curt nod as to signal to Ron that he could continue his speech.

"Once this was over I was going to tell you how I really felt because..." Ron sniffed and wiped his nose with the back of his hand so that he could continue his confession. "You weren't just a friend to me Hermione. You were the best person that I could ever have met. Since that first meeting on the Hogwarts Express I couldn't believe how lucky I was to have met a nice, beautiful, intelligent girl like you. I have to admit we've had those times when we've disagreed but every silence during those periods was silences of self-loathing about myself, because now I realise every moment together we had was the most special time in my life."

Ron paused to here Voldemort's voice echoing against the castle walls, he was calling for Harry.

As the Death Eaters expelled from Hogwarts castle Ginny ran over and found them with Hermione's inert body. She too started to cry with Harry and Ron as Professor McGonagall strode over to observe what was going on.

Breath caught in her throat as she stared at the student lying against the cold stone floor and a tear was shed from her eye.

"Mr Weasley, Miss Weasley. I think you should carry Miss Granger down to where all our other lost ones have been placed." Both the Weasleys nodded as Ron took the lifeless body in his arms and slowly and mournfully carried it down the stairs. Ginny was walking behind him tears still running from her eyes to the bottom of her cheeks until they fell to the ground.

Harry watched them silently before snapping his head back to listen to what Professor McGonagall had to say to him.

"You heard what the Dark Lord said Potter. End this, for not only the wizarding world, but for the memory of Miss Granger as well."

Harry nodded silently in acceptance; he knew what lay before him and facing Voldemort was his ultimate destiny.

Also I'm thinking about writing a story about the life of Bellatrix Lestrange...would you read it?
