"We got him!" Espo calls over the phone.

"Kate we got him! He's fine! We'll come out now."

She still can't believe her ears. The only thing that makes it feel real are the two pair of arms of her redheads engulfing her.

"Dad!" Alexis shouts while rushing over to Castle, throwing her arms around his neck.

"Hey pumpkin" he whispers in her ear.

"Richard dear, I'm so glad you're fine" Martha says while giving him a brief kiss on the cheek.

"Mother, I hope your wine didn't run empty while I was gone."

"Duh, of course not."

Castles laugh about that fades away immediately when he discovers Kate. She stands there mere meters away from him, eyes down, hands on her stomach.

"Sorry my lovely redheads, but there is someone I really need to cuddle now."

"Sure" they both say in unison.

Castle walks straight over to Kate and stops right in front of her with just a minimal space remaining between them. She hasn't looked up yet.

"Hello my dear detective" that's when she looks up, straight into his blue eyes. God how she missed these two pieces of safe heaven. He smiles down at her with a bit of a hurt look in his eyes. He's got dark rings under his eyes, but all in all he looks great like always.

"A penny for your thoughts?"

She smiles at that. He knows how to make her smile. She loves his jokes. Even the inappropriate. Always had.

"No not really. You pretty much used up all the space up there for any thoughts."

Castle reaches out and strokes his thumb over her cheek. She leans into his touch.

Her stomach is filled with butterflies again.
He's here. It's not just a dream. Tears are building up in her eyes. He leans in and kisses a tear away when it's rolling down her cheek. Kate shudders by this intimate touch but it takes her just another second to bend her head up to him and seal their lips with a kiss.

Home. She hadn't felt home for two month now. And she never wants to experience this feeling ever again.
Castle pulls her closer and the kiss gets more passionate. It's like there's no one else but them.

"Hey mom, dad! Please stop making out in front of us!" Javi chimes from behind them with a big grin.

"Well, why don't you stop making love to Doctor Parish over there for two month and then we can talk again buddy?" Castle says and earns a group full of grins and two Latin faces which are red immediately. He looks back at Kate and bends down again for a searing kiss, but ends it way to fast in Kate's opinion.

"And we both move this on later when there's just the two of us" he whispers at her mouth so that only she can hear what he has said and ends it with another peck on her lips.

He lays his right arm around her shoulder, pulls her tight and walks toward the ambulance with her.
