We are pretending that Will and Alyss are married…

Alyss looked up as Will entered the cabin drenched from head to toe.

'Hi,' he said and basically collapsed onto a chair. Alyss stood up and rushed to get him some coffee. He looked like he needed it.

'You had told me that if it started raining you were going to come home,' she scolded gently. Will changed positions on the chair, getting more comfortable before answering.

'I had to. Just as it started raining I found out who the culprits where, and they were planning to leave in two hours time. I had to rush back and alert Halt and just as I did that it started raining,' he said, gave up on the chair and sat on the lounge instead.

'Still,' Alyss said, trying to find something that she could hold against her husband for being out in the rain and scaring her.

'If I could have done something else, I would have. You should have heard Pauline telling Halt about how the both of us shouldn't be out in the rain even though it is our job,' Will replied and gave a chuckle. Alyss shook her head, laughing and placed the cup in front of Will and sat next to him, watching the fire roar.

'You know how much I love you, right?' Will asked Alyss. She suddenly got nervous. Where was he going to go with this?

Her scream rang out through the tiny cabin and the woods surrounding as Will fell to the ground, a huge hole in his side.

Dead.
