Broken Promises
By Yamato_Ishida
I promised you some ice cream,
but I never did show up.
"Hey, Takeru, how about some ice-cream?" Yamato asked Takeru.
"Yeah! Ice-cream!" Takeru said joyfully.
"I have to do something right now, OK? I'll meet you there."
Takeru nodded and skipped off to get his shoes on.
Yamato heard the door shut.
Takeru stood in front of the ice-cream shop. It had been more then fifteen minutes.
Takeru stared at the ground as a tear ran down his cheek.
And when I told you we could spend time together,
it never was enough...
Yamato walked up to Takeru. "Hi, squirt. Want to listen to music and read comics in my room?"
Takeru's eyes lit up. "Yes, definitely!" he said happily.
Yamato took Takeru's hand and they walked to his room.
Takeru smiled as Yamato got down his comic books.
"Here," Yamato held out a comic book for Takeru. "Read this one, it's funny."
The phone started ringing. Yamato jumped up to get it.
"Hello? Yeah, this is Yamato. Oh, hi Taichi..."
Takeru read four comic books already, and his brother was still on the phone.
He set the comic down, and walked away. Yamato didn't even notice.
I told you we would go to the park,
but when you refused, I didn't know why.
I never realized...
"Do you feel like having fun? I am willing to take you to the park." Yamato told his little brother.
Takeru didn't face him. "No, I don't really want to." With that, he walked away.
"Fine, thats the last time I take you anywhere." Yamato thought.
I have left you in the dark.
Now that our parents are divorced,
you live so far away.
When we went to the Digital World,
you weren't the same.
Please forgive me my dear brother,
for all things I have done.
I was a fool,
and I still am,
for never apologizing.
