The Uncharted Island

Ten Years Ago in the Uncharted Island

It was a beautiful morning; there was a young boy. He was lying down on the grass near the river and he was looking at the sky. He was born in Uncharted Island, an island, a place, where no man had ever drawn a map of that island. The young boy's name was Tokai T. Kainagi. He smiled while he lying down on the grass and he was thinking about the legendary story, the Poneglyph, in which his father told him about it. He was about to sleep then suddenly, he heard his father calling him. He stood up and ran to his house. He ran with a smiles and he was thinking that maybe his father had more story to tell. He finally arrived at his house and his father was pleasure that Kainagi, his son, arrived in time.

"Perfect, Kainagi, you arrived on time!" His father said while holding an ax.

"Thanks!" he smiled. "But why are you calling me, dad? At this time." he asked because he was wondering why his father calling him at this time all of a sudden.

His father gave him a big wood log and the big wood log was two feet tall. "That's my beautiful gift for you." he said with a smile to show that he is happy that his son is here. "And this is why I calling you at this time, Kainagi."

"Hey, dad! Hold on! Today is suppose to be my day off. And why are you giving me this? What with the log, anyway?" he said angrily. He was angry because today is suppose to be his day off. He earn that day off since he had been working hard to support his parents.

Kainagi's father knew and he understand that today is Kainagi's day off. However, he said to his son. "Today is your day off, Kainagi. I know that. But today is special and it is really important. I need you to bring that big wood log to Mr. Bobo's house."

"Huh? Today is special and important? Why today is special, dad?" Kainagi asked as he scratched his head.

"Because Mr. Bobo want tell you something. If you give Mr. Bobo the wood log then I am sure he might give you something as well tell you. Trust me, son, you will like it." said Kainagi's father as he went back to his normal daily work.

But Kainagi, however, don't want to go because he still upset that his day was ruin and he, in fact, still hungry. "I don't want to bring this big wood log today because today, in fact, is my day off, dad. And more importantly, I am too hungry right now." his stomach grumbled. "See, I am hungry."

Kainagi's father stop working and he turned his body while holding the ax. His face is serious and he want to show his son that he serious. "You will eat later, young man!" said his father. "Your mother will prepare the food later when you finish delivery the wood log to Mr. Bobo's house."

"Seriously dad, Mr. Bobo's house is so far away." he protested. "I don't want walk all the way to Mr. Bobo's house while hold this big wood log. And, I am hungry right now. "

"Don't make me use the fist of LOVE!" He showed his fist. "This fist will make you do it and it will make our love grow stronger."

"OK! OK! I am going!" He don't like the fist of LOVE because it will hurt if he got hit by his father's fist and he wish that his father not copy that man. He picked up the big wood log and he started walking while holding the big wood log with his hands to Mr. Bobo's house.

"Gee, that boy." His father said while holding the ax and watching his son walking.

"Dear, don't put too much pressure on our son." Kainagi's mother said to her husband. "Kainagi is a sweet child and he sure works hard to support us."

"I know he work hard to support us." he looked at the sky. "He works hard at a young age..." he looked at his wife. "Baby, I don't mean to put too much pressure on our son. But I am happy that he work hard to support us."

"So am I!" His mother smiled.

He was walking while holding the big wood log that his father gave him. He finally arrived at the village. He put down the big wood log on the ground and it make a 'BAM' sound because the wood log is heavy in which weight around 30-35 pounds. He was sweating a lot because the big wood log was heavy.

"Just great..." he mumbled while gasping for air. "...walking while holds the big wood log sure is…" His stomach growled. "…hungry". he sighs. "I hope I make it to Mr. Bobo's. This big wood log sure is heavy." he sighs. "This sucks." He picked up the big wood log with his hands. He was still sweating due to the weight of the wood log as he continued walking though the village to delivery the wood log to Mr. Bobo's house.

The village was a small town and not many people live there. The population in the town was total of 150 people. The village people were so happy to see him since they all know him because of his aggressive nature to help. They all said to Kainagi. "G'Morning! Kainagi!" and he responded back. "G' Morning!".

Mrs. Ford, a woman that work as a Barber, and she own the Barber shop, noticed him with the big wood log. She asked Kainagi. "Why you carrying the big wood log, Kainagi?

He put down the big wood log on the ground and of course it make a 'BAM' sound. Mrs. Ford heard the sound and was surprised because Kainagi is young child and yet, he was able to carry the wood log in which was heavy. "I am carrying the big wood log because I need to give it to Mr. Bobo." he said while his stomach growled. "And I am hungry."

Mrs. Ford started to laugh because she can tell that he is hungry since she know him since he was born. "Kainagi, you always hungry." Mrs. Ford said. "And, don't worry you will eat soon."

"Yes, I will eat soon." he said to Mrs. Ford. "I will eat when I delivery the wood log to Mr. Bobo's house. I got to go now. Bye." he was about to picked up the wood log but Mrs. Ford stopped him. "Wait!" she yelled. "Mr. Bobo is not at his house. He is with me."

"He is with you?" he puzzled. "Then where is he?"

Suddenly, Mr. Bobo popped up behind Mrs. Ford. "I am here, Kainagi." Mr. Bobo said as he waving at him.

"Now, since you are here. I will just leave the big wood log here. Bye, have a nice day." He leave the big wood log on the ground and he started to walk back to his house because he finish his delivery. "Perfect! Today sure is easy!" he started to sing. "Food~here I come! Food!~Lalala..." as he walked to his house.

"Hey!" Mr. Bobo shouts at Kainagi. "You can't come and leave as you please. "Carry the wood log to my house, Kainagi. Follow me."

He stopped walking and he turned back to pick up the big wood log. "You are mean, Mr. Bobo. Picking on a poor seven years old child. Meanie..." he said as he lift the wood log.

"I am not picking on you, Kainagi. And, I am not MEAN!" Mr. Bobo said in calm voice but in angry voice when he said the word 'mean'.

"I was kidding you, Mr. Bobo. Relax and can you promise to give me something to eat because right now I am hungry." he said as his stomach grumbled.

"Sure." Mr. Bobo said. "I will give you lemonade. It's that fine with you?" Mr. Bobo knew that lemonade is a drink and not a food because he want see what Kainagi's reaction.

"Yeah, that's fine, Mr. Bobo." He said with a happy face but inside he hate it because he want food since he is hungry right now. But he don't mind since he, in fact, love lemonade.

"Perfect! Now, follow me." Mr. Bobo started walking but he inside not happy because Kainagi not show any angry reaction due to the fact lemonade is for drinking and not eating.

He was following Mr. Bobo. They were walking though the town, up the hill, across the river and they finally arrived at Mr. Bobo's house.

"This is why I hate to walk while holding this!" He put down the big wood log on the ground and again, of course, it make a 'BAM' sound but this time it was loud.

"Relax, Kainagi. It's part of your training from your father. Bring that in my house. If you have enough energy left." Mr. Bobo chuckled and he wanted to see what Kainagi will react.

He picked up the wood log. "I do have enough energy left. Let's go!" he said with mighty voice.

Mr. Bobo's head drop with water (sweatdrops). "I didn't expect that he have enough energy left..." he said in his mind while stared at Kainagi.

Both entered the house and he put the wood log in the fireplace.

"Are you sure this is the right place?" he asked.

Mr. Bobo picked up the glass jar and a cup. He poured the lemonade into the cup and he gave the cup to Kainagi.

"Oh, thank you, Mr. Bobo." He grasped the cup and drank the lemonade. "It's so good!"

Mr. Bobo put the glass jar on the table and he walked to his rocky chair. Kainagi put the cup on the table.

He sat on his rocky chair and Kainagi asked. "Mr. Bobo, I put the big wood log in the fireplace. That's fine?"

"Yes, its fine, Kainagi." Mr. Bobo said while resting on his rocky chair.

"Well, thanks for the drink. I better get going now. Mr. Bobo, bye and take care."

Before he leaves, he said to Kainagi. "Kainagi, you remember the Poneglyph?"

He stopped at the door and he turned his head and looked at Mr. Bobo. He nodded.

"Your father told you about the Poneglyph? Did he?"

"Well…" Kainagi sat down on the floor in front of Mr. Bobo and he crossing his leg. "He only told me a little bit of it."

"You want know little bit more of it?" Mr. Bobo asked. "You want?"

"Yeah, it would be nice. I mean…" he stopped for a moment because he remember that his father told him that today is special. He understand now. "I just realized that today is special." he looked at Mr. Bobo. "I would like to know more. I want to know something that my father never tell me about a man, in the past, he conquered the Grand Line. So, if you know who was he then tell me."

"Very well, Kainagi. I will tell you, and remember this well, Kainagi. I just arrived on this island few weeks ago. I've never tell anyone who am I. But you, Kainagi, are a friend of mine. I shall tell you because you are interest about the Poneglyph. Are you ready to know who was he, are you?"

"Yes, I am ready. I am listening." Kainagi become serious because he want know who was he and the Poneglyph as well.

"The Poneglyph…no man can understand what those words meant? When I was young, I was a pirate."

"What?! You was a pirate?!" Kainagi was shocked because he didn't know that Mr. Bobo was pirate in the past.

"Yes, I was." he continues talking. "The man, I was with, he understand the Poneglyph. That man was Gol D. Roger, the Pirate King!" he said with strong tone.

"Wait, Gol D. Roger?" Kainagi asked and was puzzled. "Why his name was Gol D. Roger? I thought this real name was Gold Roger. And why my father not tell me about him?"

"That question about your father in which that he not tell you. That part I do not know. And yes, his name was Gol D. Roger, why him? He understands the Poneglyph, Kainagi. He told us, the crew, and he said, 'I have come here and will lead this passage to the farthest ends of the world.' And he meant that the one piece is at that place, the island, only Gol D. Roger and his crews have reached the island."

"I need to know, why his name was Gol D. Roger? Why?"

"Because the government don't want to reveal the public that his real name is Gol D. Roger. They know his real name was Gol D. Roger but instead they called him, Gold Roger."

"I see, then why the government want to hide his real name, anyway?"

"That part, I don't know, Kainagi. I wish I know the answer but I think it best for you to find the answer when you grow older."

"So, are you telling me that the Poneglyph is at that place? All the answer is in there?" Mr. Bobo nod his head up and down. "Then, where is that island? What happened to him?" he asked.

At the moment, he becomes sad when Kainagi asked about Gol D. Roger. He looked at Kainagi's eyes and said. "He was executed, but his last word was..."

Flashback

Somewhere, in the East Blue, at Loguetown, Gol D. Roger's execution. Many people was there and are watching. Gol D. Roger was sitting on the 'Execution Platform'. A man whom is watching with the crowd, yelled, "Hey! Pirates King! What did you do with your treasure? It's somewhere on the Grand Line, isn't it? You have it, don't you? The greatest treasure in the world!?" The Executioner didn't like what the man asked. "Insolent! Hold your tongue!" but the man continued talking. "Your special treasure? 'ONE PIECE!'" The crowd heard what the man asked and they were also wondering where is the treasure, One Piece.

When Gol D. Roger heard what the man asked. He begins to laugh and the crowd was shocking that Roger was laughing. He smiled. "My treasures?" The Executioners points their long swords at Roger. "All right! That's enough!" Roger continued talking. "If you want it, I'll let you have it. Go look for it!" The Executioners rise their swords at Roger and are ready to execute him. The crowd was shocking and Roger continued talking. "I left all of it at that place." at the same time the Executioners said "Execute!" they stabbed Roger's chest and the swords went pass through Roger's body. The crowd witness the execution and they was shocking to hear Roger's last words. Suddenly, the crowd starts to cheering. They are cheering because Roger told them that the treasure does exist. Roger died with a smile as the crowd continued cheering as well the sky turn dark and it began to rain.

Flashback End

"Wow, that sure some amazing story. He was executed at Loguetown, I got it now. So, where is that place? I just asked you that. And why was he executed?" He was curious to know.

"Raftel is the island at the end of the 'Grand Line' which supposedly holds the treasure, 'One Piece'. He was executed at Loguetown like I told you. I let you know. that city is also known as 'the town of the beginning and the end'. And, why he was executed? It's better for you to find out the answer, Kainagi."

He smiled and stood up. "Since you said that then I would like to know why. That's more than enough. Thank you."

Mr. Bobo smiled and he stood up from his rocking chair and he walked to his bed to lying down.

"Are You ok, Mr. Bobo?" Kainagi asked because he know that Mr. Bobo is old.

Mr. Bobo closed his eyes as he rest on the bed. "I am old now. I need to rest. Kainagi, can you go to the forest?"

"Your voice…are you sure that you ok?" he walked toward Mr. Bob and held his hand.

"I am fine. I am ok. Please, go to the forest and bring more woods. I need it to keep me warm." He let go of Kainagi's hand.

"Sure, I will go. Mr. Bobo, please sleep well." he left the house and walked to the forest to get more wood.

Mr. Bobo smiled. "Kainagi, I will miss you. I just arrived on this island few weeks ago. You visit, help, smile, and always happy. It makes me feel better and I am happy to meet you, Kainagi. Thank you." He went to sleep but he died with a smile.

Kainagi doesn't know that Mr. Bobo died while he slept. He was walking though the forest and the forest was huge due to many trees.

He looked up at the sky. "It will be dark soon. I better find some woods for Mr. Bobo."

Suddenly, he heard a loud explosion and he saw that the sky is fill with the village's smoke.

"What is the going on?!" he was shocked. He quickly ran though the forest in order to check the village. "I hope everyone is all right! I'm coming!" he shouted as he continued running to the village.
