She came across him laying on the ground, looking up at the stars in the pouring rain, noticing the lone tear that fell from his eye. She felt empathy for him, and went and sat beside him. He turned to her.
"What are you doing out here?" She smiled wistfully.
"Being a friend." He frowned.
"I don't need one."
"Draco, your marriage just broke down. Mine's went a few years ago. I know what it's like. I –"
"You don't." She sighed in slight annoyance. He continued. "No you don't, because that muggle never cheated on you. He never used you. He –"
"Yes he did." He stopped and stared at her.
"Oh."
"Precisely. Anyway. I just came here to tell you that I'm always here to pick you up when you fall; to glue the pieces together when they shatter."
"What do you –" This time it was her go to interrupt him.
"To offer you a shoulder whenever you need to cry." She looked pointedly at him. "And of course, to walk beside you every step of the way. I'm here for you Draco. For ever and always." He looked at her. She grinned and started to laugh. "I'm turning into a sap!" He began to laugh as well, before picking her up off the ground.
"Come on. Let's go inside."
She slipped her hand into his.
