Standing at the edge of a cliff all she could think about was, how much she loved the element covering the rocks at the bottom of the cliff.

It was comforting and it was beautiful. Whenever she jumped from up high and entered it's domain she would forget all her troubles.

Looking back, she saw a bunch of half-naked men surrounding their family. Her family. Looking at them generally brought peace to her mind. She had kept her promise. She had kept them protected. From the time the first werewolf of this generation had risen, she had been there. Behind the curtains. Letting them fight, letting them be in danger, letting them learn, but still, protecting them.

However, amongst all that she had failed in her biggest duty. Even though the charade that she had built up had been important, looking at that face saddened her. That face which she promised to always put a smile on, was today unhappy.

In that person's mind she was ... Not exactly a bad person. And that was perhaps the worst thing.

Leah didn't think bad of her. She still carried love for her. But it was bittersweet. And it hurt Emily in knowing that in keeping her promise to an old man, she had ended up destroying something much more precious.

But she wasn't anything, if not a woman of her word.

Still, looking at Sam and the other pack members , she couldn't help but feel a small spark of resentment. It was nothing which would consume her. She loved them all. But the simple fact was that she loved her sister more.

The Voltoire were coming. For the child. And she didn't begrudge The Cullens for asking them for help. Not that they needed to. What with Jacob imprinting on Renesmee, the pack was bound to do it. The Cullens were family.

Oh how she waited for the day when she would bring an end to Imprinting.

Don't get her wrong. She wasn't anyone evil. Nor was she a crazed woman. No she was just a person who knew that even though Imprinting was a beautiful phenomenon, it was not supposed to be. There was a reason the supernatural was a thing which scared people.

It was something which was not supposed to exist. She disagreed. We can never tell if something was to actually exist or not.

The Voltoire were going to kill Renesmee because they were scared of her future abilities. They didn't know.

They didn't know what she would become so they were scared. ANyways, back on why she thought Imprinting was wrong. It was just the way it happened. Like a fairy tale.

Emily loved fairy tales. But it was better to get the lesson out of them and not try to expect them in real life. Because in real life that fairy tale had a heavy price. Which she paid.

And she didn't even want this fairy tale. Oh she loved Sam. Even though when he had ripped her face, all she had wanted to do was feed him to the wolves. Ahem forgive her. But she had given him a chance. Duty was duty. Still..

Once again looking back at a small child running towards her along with a giant behind her, all she could think of was that she didn't want it for Claire either.

Leah's POV

Ahhhhhh she wanted to shoot someone. Preferably her current Alpha. And her ex-Alpha. And her pack members. And..

Forget it ! I got up and started to walk towards the cliff. Nothing like a bit of cliff diving in the night. Walking away from the gathering till they couldn't see me , I grinned. Huh, so long asses. I am sooooo gonna touch the ocean bed. It was a secret that no one knew of. Even when I phased , it was one thing which I never let out.

The wind blew towards me and brought alongwith it a familiar scent. Surprisingly today I didn't walk away from it. There was something odd about it.

"Emily. Hey" I said as I walked and came to a standstill beside her.

"Hi. Wanna walk with me on the shore?" she asked abruptly.

Taken aback I looked at her. "Are you going to ask me to be your Maid of Honour." I looked at her with a brow raised.

She smirked." I already asked you. And you said yes. But that is gonna happen only if you and Sam stay alive." she looked up at me. I frowned. She had grown.

"Have you been stretching? Because you look taller."

"Yes, well I am not a fan of being too short. Sam is a gaint and I really need to catch up on my height." She said looking away from me and towards the sea. "Now about that walk. Do you want to come with me?"

"I'd love too." I answered. Somehow, I felt that something had changed. In her. And maybe something more was going to change.

In me.
