I wanted to write about a moment in time. I'm sorry it turned out so short. Your reading will sadly also only last for seconds... But I felt like I said all I wanted to in those few sentences. It kind of morphed into poetry at the end, rendering it a hybrid. I hope you will enjoy it, even if it's flawed :)
Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon.
Exchange Of A Rose
So much can change in the span of seconds. Déjà vu rides me when I lift my gaze from the crimson rose between my fingers, to meet a certain pair of chartreuse eyes. It's a scene burned into my mind, this particular moment, repeated over and over again. Every time his smirk. Every time a snide remark and a flicking of hair. Never failing to rile me up. His absence always the next to follow. Each and every one a bitter blossom to bear.
This particular ruby in my hand holds a different promise, glimmering with light. The emerald no longer hides behind, but instead gives meaning to the gesture, banishing clouds to let the sun shine.
For the first time, I look into his eyes and there is spring. Life is what entices me, finds me so easily a victim. Mankind gaze at the stars, the mystery of days past, and the future which awaits. I have found it all.
In the span of seconds, we both understand. And that is why, as fingers entwine, we adore mirroring smiles.
