Kate I Love You
It was a warm summer night the air was completely still and peacefully silent not even the crickets were chirping their songs. The river rushed quietly along winding its way through Jasper National Park. Suddenly the silence was broken by two wolves who came crashing through the undergrowth arguing loudly with each other.
"Shut up and let me tell you, that I love you," Humphrey pleaded.
"You can't be serious!" Kate laughed at him.
"I'm getting sick of you telling me I don't," Humphrey stated.
Kate turned away from him. "You really don't,"
"You wouldn't know!" Humphrey exclaimed.
"Just let it go," Kate sighed as she stood and began to walk away.
Humphrey sprinted after her trying to press his cause. "Can I say I love you?" he panted when he finally caught up to Kate.
"Please don't," she turned her nose up at him.
"And you love me too?" Humphrey added hopefully.
"It's nothing you can prove," Kate said dashing Humphrey's dreams. Despite this he kept on trying.
"Say you do,"
"I don't!"
"You will," Humphrey said confidently.
"I won't," Kate disagreed strongly.
"You're no help," Humphrey shook his head.
"What if my heart belongs to someone else?" Kate suggested.
Humphrey was gripped with fear as his mind flashed to that Eastern wolf named Garth but he took a deep breath and continued.
"I don't believe you," Humphrey chided.
"Good cause it's not true," Kate smiled. "And by the way I love you too,"
Humphrey was caught off guard when Kate leaned in and gave him kiss on the cheek.
"See was that so hard?" Humphrey returned the smile.
