Written for heebee in my Request a drabble post in my LJ.

Sorry for any OOCness. I don't have a excellent grasp on the characters yet.

I don't own One Piece.

Zoro and Kuina often snuck out at night to practice.

After practice, they'd sit by the pond and talk. Mostly about how Zoro could improve, and if not then it was Kuina making fun of how Zoro would never ever be able to beat her, not in a thousand years, no matter how good he got because she was Just That Good.

There came the night, however, where Zoro nearly beat her.

He had struck her on the fingers, and she had dropped her sword. Unfortunately for him, though, he took the time to gloat, and she had picked up her sword and had sent both of his flying into the pond. He was glad they were bamboo – they floated.

"You're good, Zoro, but not good enough," she said proudly, sitting on the bank while Zoro waded in to the water.

"Shut up," Zoro snapped and he grabbed one of his swords but the other one was in the middle.

"Careful. It get's deeper," Kuina called out in warning.

He ignored her.

And then he disappeared from sight suddenly and with only a small splash.

"Zoro?" she called, unsure. She waited a couple of seconds.

"Zoro?!" she yelled, panicked.

"Calm down," Zoro said, his head poking up beside his sword. "I know how to swim."

He grabbed his sword and climbed up to the bank.

"You idiot! I told you about the drop!"

"I don't have to listen to you," Zoro said, sivering.

"You're going to get sick. Let's got back."

"I will not," Zoro snapped, and picked up his swords again. "Let's spar."

He was sick for the next week.
