My health teacher let us do something for extra credit - not that I need it - so I decided that why on earth was I going to write something that all I could do was turn in for more points later? I should get some feed back from my friends online as well! So here this is, I will continue eventually, but don't hold your breath for and update before christmas. That's when I home I'll get my laptop back, heh, it died... with my stories on it... heh.

Here goes...

An Addiction and a happy ending

By Shadow Gryffyn

Keladry of Mindeland had just finished a practice bout with her Nealan of Queenscove, better known as Neal, when Sir Lord Roaul of Goldenlake and Malories Peak came over.

"Hey Roaul!" cried Keladry. "Wanna see if you can beat me at jousting? You've always been good but I've gotten better!" Roaul looked at the sun, before realizing there was no sun, as it had gone down quite a long time ago.

"That's what I came out to talk to you about. You've been out here all day, you skipped supper and you haven't stopped since the piece of bread and water we got you to eat for lunch. You need to stop now and come in."

"No sir! I'm perfectly happy. If you won't joust me, then how about a sword match?" Roaul simply shook his head and went inside to fetch a certain blue-eyed Sargent of his. Domitan of Masbolle, better known as Dom, came out to find Kel doing an exhibition dance with her favorite weapon, a long iron cored staff, five feet long with an eighteen inch blade on the end called a Glaive.

"Kel!" Dom cried. "Come in and eat something now!"

"No Dom. Come sword fight with me!" Unbeknownst to Kel, Dom got a twinkle in his eye. He knew that no matter what she said, she was getting tired.

"Alright, whatever you say my dear Protector!" Dom jumped the fence and Kel turned to find her wooden practice sword, but before she could find it she had a pair of large hands grasp her shoulders, turn her around, grab her waist and before she knew it, Dom had picked her up and was carrying her like a small child out of the practice court and into the mess hall. Dom called over his shoulder,

"Neal? Be a dear and collect dear Keladry's weapons and put them where she can't find them for a couple of days? I believe Roaul will help you hide them. Thank- you!" Dom sat Kel on a bench and put a plate of food in front of her and told her to eat. "Kel, you are going to eat all of the food on that plate before I let you up and you are going to listen to what I have to say before you leave. You have been practicing all day everyday since you found that Anders had died. You need to grieve properly for your brother and that does not mean halfway killing yourself with weapons practices. I am stopping this now. You are not going to touch a weapon for three days or I will extend the length of time to a week." Kel had finished her food. "Now that you are done, I am going to walk you to you room and have Alanna lock you in. You are to sleep until the morning when I will come for you again. And don't even think about escaping through the window, those will be locked too." Dom walked Kel to her room and went in with her and sat next to her on her bed. "Kel, please believe I am doing this for your own good. Your friends have become very worried about you over the last few days. And you know what? I don't think I'd be able to live without you." His face was very close to hers now. "I love you Kel." He whispered, and leaned in to kiss her. She smiled.

"Thank you Dom, for everything. And you know what? I love you too." They smiled and kissed again. When the broke away Kel said, "I love happy endings."
