Protector
Kairi put down her pencil and looked at the clock. Seeing that there was still half an hour before class was over, she sighed dejectedly and turned to stare out the window. 'Great' she thought ' now I have nothing to do. I really have to learn to take my time with homework.' Seeing as how she had already finished all the work for her other classes as well as this one, she let her mind wander and thought of the past month.
Riku and Sora had started dating officially the day after they came out to her. That didn't mean they stopped trying to out do each other, though. Apparently, even love couldn't stop a life long rivalry. In fact, they where both in detention today because, during a race from one end of the school to the other, they managed to injure five students, two teachers and the vice principle. Kairi, taking pity on her friends, had braved the vice principle's wrath and managed to talk him down from the original week long detention.
'Speaking of detention, or rather thinking, I wonder what their doing?' a sudden image of the boys in a heated embrace had her face turning as red as a tomato. "Whoa, calm down Kairi. Think pure thoughts, pure thoughts!" she told herself. 'It's not like it's going to happen anyway' she added in her head. Although Sora and Riku weren't hiding their relationship, they weren't being overly obvious about it either.
Most of the school knew or had heard rumors that they were together, and most didn't have a problem with it. Unfortunately, there was a group of student that were against them being a couple. Kairi smirked as she recalled the groups first public protest. Their big argument had been; What about Kairi? She's your friend, how could you do this to her? Admittedly, the majority of the protesters had been Kairis female friends, trying to do her a favor. She had responded by telling them she supported Sora and Riku 100 and suggested the forming of the Riku/Sora yaoi club. Needless to say, the only girls that still protested where the ones that wanted to date them.
The boy who had formed the group, who called themselves the ' Guardians of the Pure' for some idiotic reason, had not been happy. Him and his friends had even been planning to jump Sora and Riku. Kairis smirk turned into a very evil grin as she remembered. Upon hearing his plan, she had taken him kindly and forgivingly by the hand, led him to a secluded hallway, summoned her keyblade and told him if he kept insisting that the boys were 'evil and sinners' and that he was 'guarding the pure' she'd be forced to bludgeon him with her keyblade. When he'd asked her why she protected the, as he put it, faggot sinners she had said, "Because their my friends and good people." When he opened his mouth to reply, Kairi cut him of, saying " Now look, I'm a rather laidback, nonviolent person, but if you bug them again I'm going to shove this keyblade up your nose! Understand?" Now, every time one of them entered a room, he ran out.
