It was another day in the Gryffindor common room. Harry, Ron, Dean, Seamus, Neville, Hermione, Lavender, Parvati, Ginny, and Colin were listening to Katie as she explained the rules of Dare night.
"So... If you want in, throw your invites onto the table." Katie finished.
Seamus, grinning, threw his onto the table. Dean and Lavender did the same.
"This is too risky!" Hermione exclaimed.
"Im actually with her on this one," Harry agreed.
Katie looked to Neville. "What if we get caught?" Neville timidly asked.
"All part of the fun, probably," Ron said as he threw his invite onto the table.
Neville sighed, then threw his onto the tale as well.
Katie looked at Ginny and Colin. "I know both of you didn't get invites, because you're both fifth years, and this is a sixth year game. Here's the deal: I'll let you both play..." She looked at Parvati, Harry, and Hermione, who all still had the invites in their hands, "If all three of them play as well."
Hermione shot a look at Katie, throwing her invite onto the pile at those words. "That's blackmail."
"Bribery, actually," Neville corrected.
"Hermione's wrong?" Ron exclaimed.
"It happens, Ronald." Hermione scoffed.
Harry and Parvati looked at each other, throwing their invites onto the pile. "Just because Ginny and Colin want to play," Harry added.
"Excellent!" Katie exclaimed. "Here are the five teams!"
Putting the invites into a bag, along with two extra blank invites, which she wrote, "Ginevra" and "Colin" on, she pulled out two at a time, picking the teams.
"Seamus and Lavender!"
Seamus grinned. He had a crush on Lavender. "I want to be on the same team as won-won!" Lavender whined.
"Sorry, Lavender, it's random." Katie replied.
"As long as he isn't on the same team as her" Lavender snarled.
"And what if I am?" Hermione snapped back.
"He's not." Katie said briskly. "Hermione and Neville!"
"At least Neville is easy to work with." She smiled, and moved to stand by Neville.
"Parvati and Colin!"
Colin excitedly stood by Parvati. "Do you think we'll win?" He asked her.
"If we're fast, yeah." Parvati said, nonchalant.
"Ginevra and Dean!"
Ginny and Dean were too busy snogging to hear. Ron was staring daggers, Harry was making sure Ron couldn't kill them.
"Which leaves… Harry and Ronald!" Harry grinned, Ron turned around and said, "What?"
Everyone laughed, except for Ginny and Dean, because they were still snogging. After a moment, they broke apart. Katie told them what they missed, and they nodded.
"You have to do what the challenge says, and then get evidence."
"Ready? Set… GO!"
All ten Gryffindors ran out of the common room.
