Peter walked in the door of his apartment. It had been a rough day
at work. It seemed like every where he looked, someone was
committing a crime. All he wanted to do right now was just jump
into the shower and let the water wipe away the filth that he had
acquired today. Just than the doorbell rang.
"Who is it?"
"Its me Kermit."
Peter sighed and opened the door. He saw Kermit standing there, and
he didn't look to happy. Not that Kermit ever looked happy.
"What can I do for you Kermit?"
"You can start by inviting me in, and than telling me what
happened
today at work."
Peter stepped back and let him come in.
"Would you like some Ice Tea?"
Kermit nodded and sat down and waited for Peter to come back.
"Now, kid sit down and tell me what happened at work today."
"The same thing that happens every day Kermit, I fought crime and
put
away the bad guys. Why do you ask?"
"There is nothing else you might want to added to that, is
there?"
"No."
Kermit did not say anything as he got up and walked over to Peter.
He grabbed Peter left arm and watched as he his hissed in pain.
Kermit lifted up his sleeve and what he saw made him wince. There on
Peter's arm was a wound of different colors. It was emerald
green,
and mixed in with some sea blue.
"Now do you have anything you would like to tell me."
"I had a run in with a wall, when a suspect ran he slammed me
into
the wall. It is nothing. It is just sore, and will be gone in a few
days. Now, if you don't mind, I would like to go and take a
shower.
It has been a long day to day at work." With that he turned and
walked out of the room.
Kermit knew he should leave, but something made him stay. He sat
down on the sofa and turned on the radio. He sat there listening to
the soft sounds of the Backstreet Boys as the sang "Shade of my
Heart." Peter came out just than and Kermit saw that Peter was
in
pain.
"Kermit, I think that we have a problem. The pain, it won't
go away."
"Here let me take a look at it."
Kermit looked again and saw no difference in it. He than felt and
knew that Peter had broken it.
"Come on kid, we are to the hospital. Your arm is broken."
Later that night Kermit helped a very tired Peter, back into his
apartment and into bed. He helped him get out of his clothes, and
was about to help him into his PJs, when he looked and saw that Peter
had fallen to sleep in his black as velvet boxers. Kermit smiled,
and covered him up, and went home.
