A little plot bunny hopping in my head for quite some time now. If Sans can have nightmares about the Genocide route in Pacifist route, then he could probably have dreams about a Pacifist route in a Genocide route. So yeah, here's the baby of that terrible idea.
I also obviously don't own Undertale. I'm not as sexy as Toby. :P
-Dreaming-
Sans has dreams. Everyone does. The only difference was his dreams were so painful; because they seem impossible.
In his dreams, they were kind. They weren't dirty brother killers. They shared terrible jokes with him. They were merciful and a pacifist. Immensely different from the kid in front of him right now, who's a genocidal and insane kid.
In his dreams, everybody lives.
In his dreams, his smiles were sincere.
In his dreams, they reached the surface. He had a blue scooter which he tinkered with so that it can reach speeds no scooter has gone before. Life was good. His days were spent with spaghetti and laughter with his friends. Everything seems so right and perfect.
But, as he stared at the kid in front of him, huffing and heaving a breath even if he had no bruises or wounds, he woke up and came face to face to reality. He gave a sigh, walking a bit forward and giving a grin that he didn't mean.
Those dreams can wait. Right now, he's going to give the kid a bad time.
It will all reset anyway. Maybe in the next timeline, he'd give a smile he actually means.
