Kenken is very puzzled. He doesn't understand what's so great about Nao-chan… er, her neck. Is it some fascination monster guardians have, or is it just something that Shintarou has a fetish with, like everyone says? Kenken has no problems with necks at all. He supposes it is the most flawless feature anyone--any being--can have. Even when Kenken was a werewolf, he liked his neck. It was long, furry, and beautiful. But even he knows that a fetish for napes have to be weirder than… a short, thin piece of wood used for purposes that anyone can do with their hands. Seriously, picking up food with wood? How do humans come up with this material?
"STOP IT! I'll use my two-by-four on you!" Shintarou hollers. He grabs the long square stick and deftly whacks Yabe-san over the head, thusly covering up Nao-chan's neck even more. Shintarou screams of how the whole world is against him, and how they--meaning anyone else who is not a nape-lover--are conspiring on how to cover up the beautiful nape.
Kenken can tell that none of this affects Nao-chan, who is now listening to some tunes on her MP3. He can tell that right now, she doesn't really care who ogles her neck or her, because deep in her mind, she knows that they will never get her, that while they're fighting for her love, she'll be shacked up with Brad Pitt or Orlando Bloom or some famous American actor. Kenken snickers at Nao-chan's thinking.
What confuses Kenken even more than Shintarou's obsession with that specific nape is how Yabe-san can actually love a cold-hearted bitch like Nao-chan. Kenken has seen the way she acts toward those who muster up the courage to actually come up to a 'beautiful'--because to Kenken, she's far from it--young girl with letters declaring their love for her. She rips up the letters like they were dirt on her paw. She doesn't even take a chance to say sorry or at least a simple no. Are humans that evil? Was it such a hot idea offering Shintarou his life and becoming human?
People are screaming. Kenken assumes Ponta-san is talking again or the English teacher is performing another exorcism (seriously, why don't they fire her?). When Kenken turns around, he sees Shintarou hollering about taking his life and is about half-way out the window. Kenken knows the boy's just fooling around, but with Shintarou, you can never be so sure. So, along with Yabe-san (who only joined because Nao-chan was screaming at Shintarou to get back), the two boys manage to pry Shintarou off the edge of the window. Now Ponta-san is scolding Shintarou, which is freaking out most of the class.
Now, while Kenken tries to figure out why everyone is still afraid of a talking rabbit, Kenken tries to decipher the boy who turned him human, napes, and how odd humans can be.
