The first time they met Rose honestly thought that Jade was going to be that annoying happy-go-lucky girl.

But over time she realized that Jade was more then that.

She was smart, funny, productive... The list could go on.

That's why, almost 5 years after the game session, Rose finally gathered the courage to ask Jade out.

All the way to Jade's home (she had moved to the US, deciding to live in DC. The others had eventually followed her and they all lived within a 10 minute walk from the Smithsonian Mall- the boys lived together no surprise) Rose fretted over what Jade would say.

Kanaya, who Rose had asked advice from, simply laughed and told her to go and make her proud.

Patron trolls were useless.

"You know Rose, you're bad at hiding your emotions."

"What- Jade when did you get behind me?"

"Depends. Anyway, what's up Rose?"

Rose cleared her throat, glancing up at the other girl. Jade was taller now at 18, barely surpassing John's height but almost towering over Rose with a good 2-3 inches. Briefly she thought that it was Jade's witch powers that let her be so tall.

"I... Well. Jade. There's something I want to talk to you about." The lavender-eyed girl shifted, glancing up to meet deep dark green eyes. "I... Hope this doesn't ruin our friend-"

"Rose."

"-ship. I'd hate for that to happen-"

"Rose."

"-I like to think that we're close enough so this won't-"

"Rose!"

That snapped the blonde out of it.

"Yes?"

"You were rambling dear." Rose flushed and Jade's lips curved upwards.

"I- sorry about that then Jade. I should-"

Before Rose could say much more Jade's lips were connected to hers and Rose forgot whatever she was going to say.

A little bit away, behind a convientely placed bush, John grinned to himself. Took them long enough.

"John, when you're done watching our sisters make out, can we go back home? We need to fuck with Karkat's shipping grid. Again."

"Sure Dave. Just a sec-"

A picture (or two later) the two boys left the the girls alone, pictures taken for teasing purposes.
