I want to tell you guys about the weirdest thing I had to face as a towel boy, first some background about me.
"You're in charge of the towels now" my manager waggled his finger at me in disappointment I hung my head and blinked back tears, this wasn't fair.
I had worked so hard to get a job in this hotel and now because of this one slip up I'm on towel duty! I don't even like towels, wipes get the job done much faster, cleaner and more efficient!
Plus there are 30 levels on this hotel which is amazing, even though each floor looks the same yes..the daily grind is a nice one for me.
The gray uniform completes the deal, I can speak for myself that I look very dapper...for a towel boy.
Ever since I got this gig, I was originally a receptionist here, I got to talk with people everyday but all that changed when I started messing up and arriving late, not my own fault though.
You see I met this guy online me and him felt a connection and since I never really felt this with a guy before...we discuss horse racing, stamp collecting and even the fine art of wine and cheese tasting..I never felt such a passionate connection before.
But he lives in America and my job is busy so I can't always skype with him, he gives me something to come home to which isn't a lonely house that's barely affordable.
"All I have to do is keep my job, do it right and maybe I'll get my job as a receptionist back" I repeated the mantra in my head...there was this kid with short black hair that was in the elevator who was going to the last floor.
Everything seemed fine until this tall beefy dude with these cherry red shoes showed up, the elevator air had never been so tense...
"just do your job right..all you have to do is bring these towels to that old lady on floor 4" I tried to ignore the fact these two were harshing the elevator's mello.
"just kiss already" I thought while the two of them stood there being lonesome and quiet, it had been a hard day and my towels just needed to be delivered.
The electronic "ping" told me I had made my stop and while trying to get out of the torture box I had ineffectively rammed the cart into the threshold of the elevator.
The towels flew everywhere with my hopes and dreams while screaming a apology blackhair#1 helped me collect the fallen warriors while the other reached out and then writhed in pain..for...some reason, I appreciated his dying effort.
I left them to continue the tension in the elevator and delivered the towels, weird things happen everyday in this place, but in my experience that was one of the weirdest.
