You named it... Spike?

Jazz wanted to laugh, Ironhide could only sigh, Chromia looked slightly amused, and Elita-One was simply shocked.

Poor, young and innocent Arcee had no idea what to say as she blinked down at the organic human.

"So... your name is... Spike?"

It was mind-boggling, crude, and entirely what some members of the Ark would have done. However, they were slowly realizing that that possibility was not the case. The Autobot never even suggested the notion to the boy. He was already like that when they woke up.

Apparently it was a human custom to name their children, or nickname their friends, after slang terms. This would be fine in some cases, but for a boy who had become friends with an alien race, it was beyond bizarre. His nicknames was the slang term of a mech's equipment.

"Yes, it is."

And poor Spike did not realize it.

And no Autobot would tell him, either. They were too polite to (and Optimus or Prowl would give them all a stern lecture for it if they did tell him). All in all, it was quiet and interesting thing to be a part of.

Things got even more interesting when Spike discovered what the word meant.

It should have been that he walked in on Ironhide and Chromia, Moonracer and Mirage, or even Red Alert and Firestar. Instead, he walked in on someone else entirely.

It the was most embarrassing moment of Optimus' long life.

A/N: A short drabble that probably should have been turned into a story. If any of you wish to have a go at this little scenario, do please send me a PM when you post that story.
