Super Mario Bros.: Metal Mario's Madness

Part 1: The Birth of Madness

It was just another day in the Mushroom Kingdom. The Toads were busy keeping the Castle clean and serving Princess Peach. The Mario Bros. were just hanging out and doing their thing. And the fair Princesses, Peach and Daisy were being their fair and Beautiful, making sure the Kingdom is safe and happy.

Sure the Mushroom Kingdom is infamous for princess kidnapping (kinda makes you think about a certain cartoon network show doesn't it?) by a giant turtle dragon, but its heroes Mario and Luigi are always there to save the day. So surely a place with its own legendary heroes must not be all bad, right?

Wrong. See, like with every heroic tale, there's a story behind it. I mean there's a story behind the story. Take for instance Mario's evil doppelganger, Metal Mario. Although most residents of the Mushroom kingdom don't actually believe he exists, Mario and Luigi know he's still out there somewhere.

And as long as he is, the Mushroom Kingdom will never be truly safe.

Let's rewind back a little bit. It all started while the Mario Bros. were out to foil another of Bowser's many schemes. This time, Bowser was threating to turn everyone in the Mushroom Kingdom into cold lifeless metal with a single Metal Box he got from a mysterious wizard. The Mario Bros arrived just in time to stop him.

But something unexpected happened. When Mario attempted to destroy the Metal Box, the moment he punched it, the box burst open and a strange piece of metal fell out. It then began to form to look exactly like Mario. He realized this and tried to stop it but by then it was too late. He stopped and looked at the shiny, metallic figure in front of him, which looked almost exactly like him except without Mario's features. Metal Mario was born.

Mario fought with his metallic self. Soon he realized that metal Mario could not be damaged by regular means, such as fire, one of Mario's signature weapons. Were it not for Luigi's intervention, Mario might have died at the hands of his metallic self. Luigi found an acid flower power which enabled him to throw acidic orbs at Metal Mario, thus injuring him enough to make him escape.

After the climactic battle, Luigi rushed Mario back to Princess Peach's castle where he was quickly nursed back to health. Ever since then Mario has been searching far and wide for his evil doppelganger, whilst also preparing himself should he ever have to face him again. Because he know that as long as Metal Mario lives, no one will ever be truly safe.
