BEAT THE ODDS
I have often dreamed
Of a far-off place
Where a great warm welcome
Will be waiting for me
Where the crowds will cheer
When they see my face
And a voice keeps saying
This is where I'm meant to be
A small boy with messy black hair lay asleep in his bed. Well, it wasn't much of a bed. It was a small dirty little cot that had been put in the little cupboard under the stairs. His name was Harry Potter. He lived with his aunt and uncle and their son. He should be a happy little boy out in the living room playing games or watching TV with his family. But as much as the five year old wanted to join them, they didn't want him. And so he'd spend his time dreaming of the day when some long lost relative would come and take him away. He wanted to be some one. Not just the boy under the stairs.
I will find my way
I can go the distance
I'll be there someday
If I can be strong
I know ev'ry mile
Will be worth my while
I would go most anywhere
to feel like I belong
Harry Potter had been waiting for years and still no one had come to take him away from his horrible relatives. Dudley still chased his and beat him up. Aunt Petunia still made him do back breaking chores. Uncle Vernon still hated him with every bone in his huge body. That was until he got his Hogwarts letter. He had waited for this for years! Now he was finally going to find out who he really was.
I am on my way
I can go the distance
I don't care how far
Somehow I'll be strong
I know ev'ry mile
Will be worth my while
I would go most anywhere
to find where I belong
He had spent seven wonderful years at Hogwarts. He was some one now. He was the By Who Lived. But some how, he wanted more. He wanted to be known as the great Qudditch player or the wonderful ministry worker. And because he earned it. He'd had his fame delivered to him on a silver plate and now he knew he needed to pay for that plate. To earn his fame. Otherwise it would not be HIS fame. It would be HARRY POTTER, THE BOY WHO LIVED's fame. But every one thought he was the little boy who defeated Voldemort at the age of one. No one wanted him to be anything other than that.
I will beat the odds
I can go the distance
I will face the world
Fearless, proud and strong
I will please the gods
I can go the distance
Till I find my hero's welcome
Right where I belong
A thousand years ago, there was a man by the name of Harry Potter. He was the best Qudditch player in the world by his own rite. And he also defeated a dark wizard at age one...
