Here is my first WIR/Sugar Rush fanfic! Hope you enjoy!
Disclaimer: I don't own any character in this story, nor the song in this!
"Gloyd, I swear to user, just leave me alone." Candlehead gave a huff as she grabbed her jacket and headed to the door, but right when she put her hand on the handle, Gloyd decided to speak.
"When will I see you again?"
There was a few moments of silence before the girl replied. "I don't know." Then she opened the door and left.
Gloyd walked down the street, his orange earbuds placed in his ears as he listened to some calming music. This cold day was a depressing time for the racer. He felt like he had no life to live. It had been three months since Gloyd had seen Candlehead. It was almost as if their relationship was completely over.
Some asked what was going on with him recently, but he said they just needed space. He watched the others get married and start a family, while he was still alone.
Gloyd sighed and turned the corner and walked to the left a few feet before noticing a green and pink person across the street, not far from where was standing. He stumbled with his footing, almost tripping over his shoes. Taking his phone out, he stopped his music and put it away in his pocket. Taking a deep breath and looking both ways, he ran across the street to see her.
Was it Candlehead?
Gloyd sighed as he shook his jacket to a more comfortable position on his arms before taking a deep breath and approaching the girl. "Hello..?" he asked cautiously.
"Who are y..." The character was about to reply, but she trailed off as she saw who was in front of her. She looked into his eyes with her big green ones, tears coming to them. She then opened her arms and gave him a tight hug, which Gloyd gladly returned. He knew who this girl was.
"You're back," he heard her softly say into his chest.
"I never left."
Candlehead stepped back and sighed, giving him a smile, but furrowed her eyebrows at him the next moment. "I thought we agreed it was over."
Gloyd breathed out and took her hands gently in his, opening his mouth to sing to her.
I swear to you,
I'll be there for you,
This is not a drive by-y-y-y.
Please believe,
That when I leave,
There's nothing in my sleep
But love for you,
And the little times
I get my head stuck together too.
Oh, I swear to you,
I'll be there for you,
This is not a drive by.
Candlehead listened intently before she burst into tears and clutched herself close to him. "I never knew you could sing," she teased, giving him a loving smile.
"Now you do," he replied, grasping her head in his hand and kissing the top of it and rubbing her back. "I love you, Candlehead."
"I love you too, Gloyd."
