The meaning of Forever
What is forever?
The dictionary tells us; Forever is everlastingly: for a limitless time; always: seemingly without interruption; often and repeatedly.
One can not comprehend the meaning of forever.
Without end.
Impossible.
Yet it is a notion that we use everyday.
The saying, forever in a day is a classic example. An everlasting amount of time in a day, one could only wish. This concept is used when we are content and at peace with our lives and we want it to last forever.
Yet this is impossible.
Time: an instance or single occasion for some event.
Time hampers the concept of forever, because one cannot hold onto time, we are swept within it. The part of forever that is seemingly without interruption is impossible because time just does not allow for this.
We are interrupted by time.
Yet what if you could control time, would the possibilities be endless, could you have your forever. Because if you take time out of the equation, then forever is no longer an impossibility. Is this not true?
The question is, if you control time, are you excused from the effects of time?
End: the point in time at which something ends.
The answer is no.
The real truth in all of the universe is that everything has an end and you cannot control this. Even if you take time out of the equation and live with the concept of forever.
Forever cannot be harnessed and controlled, it cannot be comprehended and understood, it cannot be changed and made real.
Yet it can be believed.
Visualized
Dreamed
Hoped for
It can be made real through our very human way of defying what cannot be defied, is that not why we have excelled in the way that we have.
Rose said that she would stay with the Doctor forever. The Doctor was in control of time, he manipulated it. Yet as said even if time is taken out it still controls you.
When forever is dreamed and hoped for we begin to realise the thing that we want to lay forever on is special and loved. We would hope that we could have forever; we would dream that it was real.
But it isn't.
All we have is the here and now, yet if you forget about the end and the time that you have left and live in the here and now then maybe just maybe that can be your forever.
Live for today because your forever is waiting.
