Morning
Eleven-year-old Eva Dawson played with her long dark hair as she ate cereal.
"Mom," Nine year old Diego walked into the kitchen just a few steps in front of his father, "Dad carried me down the stairs again," He smiled smugly as he rated his father out.
"You know Diego," Laura lowered the paper and looked at her son, "I'm trying to figure out if you being so much like your father is a good thing."
"You kiddin? Of course it's a good thing; right bud?" Antonio ruffled his son's hair.
"Yeah Dad," Diego smiled as he got himself some cereal and sat beside his sister.
"I have Volleyball practice tonight; you can stay if you want and Mrs. Thompson can drop you off at Mom's store after."
Diego poured milk into his cereal, "What about you Eva?"
"I'm sleeping over at Emily's remember, me her and Savannah. It's going to be cool."
"No thank you," Diego shook his head, "I don't want to be stuck in van with four of you."
Eva good-naturedly punched him.
"Hey!" Diego punched her back, "You have a strong arm."
"Just wait until your Mom lets me get you into boxing! Then you can really beat up your sister."
"Yeah that's not going to help you any; even if you were just joking," Laura warned her husband.
"He turns ten in seven months;"
"Yeah Mom. You did say ten."
"Shouldn't you go to the gym? Work out before work?"
"Wha? I'm not fit enough for you?"
"Oh you're plenty fit," She eyed him smirking.
"That's better babe," Antonio kissed her.
"Ewe!" Eva and Diego covered their eyes, "Gross!"
"Okay, okay, I'm gone, I'm gone," Antonio gave his wife one last kiss and then kissed Eva and Diego before getting his gym bag and leaving, "I'll be home for dinner," He said before leaving.
Laura smiled, "I'm counting on it!"
