Link scaled the tower in leaps and bounds. Below him, frenzied and temporarily invulnerable, came Donkey Kong. A barrel had appeared on one

of the platforms high above them, at the summit of Hyrule Castle's tallest tower, and he had no intention of letting the fortuitous opportunity

escape.

He narrowly escaped Donkey Kong's grasp as he somersaulted up to the barrel and shattered it in a single stroke. Out popped a few motion

sensing explosives. He snatched up the closest one and jumped from the tower. Donkey Kong followed suit.

Just before he landed he preformed a mid-air flip that enabled him to come to a relatively soft landing. Donkey Kong was plummeting towards

him. Link, seeing that the great ape's invulnerability was fading, threw the sensor on the ground and rolled away. By the time Donkey Kong

landed he'd lost his advantage. The sensor pinged. A blinding flash preceded a great gout of flame that engulfed the enraged primate.

Link didn't hesitate, the explosion might have dazed his opponent but it wouldn't last. He lunged forward, sword stretched out before him. The

attack would have ran Donkey Kong through if not for the ape's incredible reflexes. Donkey Kong caught Link's sword under his arm, twisted it

out of the Hylian's grip, and returned the attack in the form of a brutal punch that had Link flying through the air.

Link felt himself falling, saw the towers of the castle receding above him, and spun in free-fall to meet his fate.
