Hey everyone. This was written for Muggle History: Muggle Wars Task #5, and The Return of the Chocolate Frog Cards on Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. For Muggle History: Muggle Wars Task #5 I choose to write for the alternate prompt of using the dialogue "Are you my Mummy?". For The Return of the Chocolate Frog Cards I choose to write for (Gold) Bellatrix Lestrange and the task was to write about Bellatrix Lestrange. I hope you all enjoy Delphi's Surprise.
Bellatrix watched the girl that had just walked up to her out of nowhere. If she was the maternal type she would have cared that this child was all by herself but that wasn't her at all. She watched as the young girl cocked her head to the side looking up her like she somewhat knew who Bellatrix Lestrange was.
"What is?" she snapped at the child causing the girl to jump back from her.
The girl's little lower lip began to quiver a little bit as though she might break down and cry at any moment. She continued to look at Bellatrix unblinkingly again.
"What do you want?" she tried again.
The girl looked to be in deep thought. Like she wanted to tell Bellatirx something. Something that had some bearing on why she was just standing there in front Bellatrix like a lump.
"Spit it out, child."
"Are you my Mummy?" she asked looking up biggest dark eyes that Bellatrix had ever seen in her life.
"I don't have any children," she snapped at the girl. But by the looks of her eyes she could tell that this child must be related to her somehow. She motioned the child closer wanting to take a look at her. "Come here child."
The girl wondered closer. "What's your name?" she asked in her child-like voice.
"Bellatrix. What's your name?"
"Delphi. Delphi Riddle. Although Mrs. Rowle won't let me call myself that." She smiled up at Bellatrix in a knowing way. "But I think you are going to be my Mummy."
"Why do you say that, Delphi?"
"Because my Mummy's name is Bellatrix too." After saying this the girl gave her a big hug. "I have to go now. But we will be seeing each other soon." She gave Bellatrix a knowing smile before turning and leaving a stunned Bellatrix behind her.
I hope you all enjoyed Delphi's Surprise. I kind of figured that at some point in her young life Delphi Riddle, or Delphi Diggory as she was being called, would want to meet her mother. I kind of figured she'd use time travel to do this.
