God on high…
Hear my prayer…
In my need…you have always been there…
He is young…he's afraid
Let him rest, heaven blessed
Bring him home
Bring him home
Bring him home
All Severus wanted was for Harry to return safely to Hogwarts. The boy was only 17, it was impossible for him not to be a little scared, given what he had to face. But Severus had faith that he would do it. He would defeat Voldemort and then everyone would be safe. Harry would be safe.
He's like the son I might've known…
If God had granted me a son
The summers die, one by one
How soon they fly, on and on
And I am old, and will be gone…
Harry did practically feel like Severus's son. Even if he didn't know it. Every time he looked at Harry he saw her eyes. Lily's eyes. That always led to another thought. If Lily had married him, Harry would be his son.
But that didn't matter now, just as long as Harry was safe. As long as Harry was safe, Severus didn't care if he lived or died.
Bring him peace…
Bring him joy…
He is young…
He is only a boy…
Harry may have been the only one that could save their world, but he was also a 17-year-old boy. He deserved happiness, he deserved safety he deserved to just have fun sometimes.
You can take…
You can give…
Let be…Let him live…
If I die let me die… Let him live…
Severus truly could've cared less about his own life. He owed this much to Lily to protect her only son. He would rather die then see Harry die. That was the one part of Lily that still existed I this world. His very last tie to her. Harry had to live.
Bring him home
Bring him home
Bring…him…home….
