Hello all! This is my very first fanfic EVER! (Scary right? Haha) I'm actually new the Fable franchise and just recently beat both Fable 2 and Fable 3. Theresa's character really intrigued me so I decided to write a story about her. Due to my busy schedule I may not be able to update a lot like most people, but I will try my hardest! And yes, this chapter is going to be very short; it's more of a prologue really.
Blind Journey
Prologue: Enter Darkness
Theresa would never forget the day that her beloved home of Oakvale was destroyed. Fire burned everywhere and people were screaming in pain. It was almost like she dreams she had during the night. At night she dreamed of fire and destruction. But she did not want to believe her dreams had predicted Oakvale's end. Yet, she could do nothing. People around her were drying… but she was too weak and scared. Her father was dead…everyone she knew was dead. Her adored little brother…she did not know where he had gone. That is exactly what Jack of Blades had wanted to know, but she told them nothing.
And she lost her sight because of it.
Now she was plunged into a world of constant darkness. It pained her to think that the last thing she ever saw was an ugly bandit getting ready to cut her eyes out. She was left to die then; left to rot in the forest where Jack of Blades and his men had left her. For two days she roamed blindly through the woods, blood seeping from her eyeless sockets. It hurt too much to cry so she desperately held back her tears. After walking for hours, she finally grew too weak and collapsed to ground. Her sense of smell seemed heightened now that she could not see. The smell of dead leaves and blood so potent it almost made her ill.
Theresa tried in vain to lift her arms and legs, but she could not. It seemed as though every last ounce of energy had left her body. She was trapped. If some foul beast were to happen by her, she would be easy prey. She was surprised that the smell of her blood had not attracted some wondering Balervine.
It became harder to breath as the air around her grew colder. She could tell by the smell of the air that night had descended upon her. She wanted gaze up at the moon, something she often did to calm herself, but she had been robbed of that comfort.
As she lay on the cold ground, Theresa was prepared to die. She knew that she could not last in the forest like this. Her injuries were too severe. She began to curse the man who had blinded her and the group of bandits who had seemingly ruined her life in one horrible night. But just as she had given up hope, he found her.
Twinblade, the man who rescued her that cold night, became her ally. He helped bring forth the powers that dwelled within her.
Twinblade had unlocked her destiny.
I hope you all enjoyed this little snippet. Chapter 1 should be posted shortly
