A/N: Hello. My first Legion fic (on here). Could be considered slash. How would I know? I'm only the person who wrote this.

"You think you can defy him, and not pay the price?" Gabriel's words hung in the air adding to the tension.

"I'm tired of running," Michael replied in that infuriatingly calm tone of his. "Look at yourself, blindly following orders, without a thought for those who may suffer."

Gabriel swallowed. That one really hurt, but he refused to show it. "And you, the rebellious son." Gabriel's voice was full of malice and contempt, but he regretted it as soon as he said it.

Michael stared at him, the hurt apparent on his face. Gabriel silently scolded himself. Why, why did he have to say it? Gabriel hadn't meant it, not at all. He would never seek to hurt Michael like that.

Too late for apologies.

Michael inhaled slowly and put his hand on Gabriel's shoulder. Gabriel shuddered involuntarily, either from regret or remorse, he did not know. "There is another way." Gabriel looked at his stunning blue eyes. No longer

did they sparkle with laughter and confidence.

How could he? How could Michael do this to him? There was no turning back now. Instead of saying so, Gabriel merely clasped Michael's hand in his own.

"There is no other way," he said, shaking his head sadly. Don't listen to me, he thought. I don't mean any of this. He gave Michael's hand a final squeeze before letting go.

"Michael?" he asked. "Forgive me."
