AN:There is no pairing to this story. Nothing really, but an idea. It made me cry, so be prepared. I am twisting my mind around a full lenth story for this, centering around this idea. This is pre-Harry-Hogwarts days, the fic I'm thinking of basing would be Harry-at-Hogwarts. Hmmm...Anyway, story time!
When she thought back, she remembered...
HE was the only one she could count on. She had been cast aside, too. They two were remarkable in the dark place they relunctantly called home. Both brilliant, both cunning, both brave. They watched each other's backs. Back to back they stood, until they were eleven. When Hogwarts tore them apart. Different houses. Different. Why? Why did the hat do that to them? She found slight comfort in the red and gold rooms while HE grew colder and colder. They fought for top positions in classes, thier friendly rivalry growing deadly over time.
And when Rubeus Hagrid showed an intrest in her, HE made it so he was expelled. Oh, she knew.
She knew very well. And time made it harder. Graduation and her apprentinceship with Albus Dumbledore, and HE went to university, to become a Dark Arts Master. She finished and became the Transfiguation Teacher when Albus became Headmaster. HE came then, wanting to join her at the school. A happy smile on his face, the first time she could remember in YEARS him being warm. And it shattered so quickly. A no and a sad smile to her and HE was gone. It wasn't until years later, that she grew to slightly resent Albus for it. And when the news came to her...
She was the only one in the world who cried.
Cried for the defeated Voldemort.
Cried for what could have been.
Cried for the man she grew up with.
Minerva McGonagall cried.
For her TWIN.
