A/N It just had to be done, and since (sadly) I couldn't do it myself, I picked a character to do it for me. Set just after 'Failsafe'.
Disclaimer: Me? Own something as EPIC as Young Justice? *snort* I wish.
Black Canary's POV
I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
"He did what?" I asked.
"He put the team through a simulation, but he didn't tell them it was a train for failure exercise," Ollie said, "Apparently, M'gann freaked out when Artemis died and kept her and anyone else who died from waking up. J'onn had to go in and shock her out of it."
"That's horrible!" I said shocked Bruce would do something like this, "What was he thinking?"
"You'll have to ask him," Ollie said.
"I think I will," I said, stalking off.
"What the Hell were you thinking!" I shouted.
"I was thinking that is was regular training, I was unaware of Miss Martian's…abilities," Bruce said, not looking away from his computer.
"Alright, but a train for failure exercise?" I asked, still shouting, "Without telling them? Are you insane?"
"Why is this so upsetting to you?" He asked.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing, "You mean to tell me you aren't the least bit phased by all this? They could have died!"
"But they didn't, and I find it best to move on with life, especially when nothing has changed," his voice betrayed no emotion, not that that was abnormal for him, but still.
"But something has changed! Maybe not something physical, but there was a mental change," I countered, "They, we, were dying in there, and though they know it wasn't real, it seemed that way. And that's not something a person can just brush off, and they're just kids!"
"They don't seem to think so," he said, "And if they want to be treated as adults they have to get used to this."
"No they don't," I said, "Because they won't be doing this again."
Now that got his attention, he turned his chair around to face me.
"And why not?"
"Because I am their trainer, not you," I said, "And I don't think a failure exercise is the best way to train them."
"They need to be prepared-"I cut him off.
"If you want to train them for the apocalypse, I will accommodate your wish, but the simulation will be beatable and they will do it with technology, linking their minds has proven to be too dangerous. Am I clear?"
We stared each other down; the tension in the room was so thick you could have cut it with a knife.
"Fine," he said, "But if you'll excuse me, I have things to attend to." He turned and left before I could answer, but I didn't really care at that moment, because I just had an argument with the goddamned Batman and won. I couldn't wait to tell Ollie.
A/N So I'm not entirely happy with this, but I really wanted to post this since I'd had the idea since the episode ended, I might fix it eventually but for now it stays. Hope you like it, review?
