This is my second one shot for Bones so I hope it goes down just as well as my first.
Angela stared at the spot on her desk. Her heart was beating faster than ever before and she was speechless. Slowly and hesitantly she lifted her head to see him walk out of the door stopping just before rounding the corner and looking back at her one more time.
Their eyes connected for a second emotion and longing taking over and then he was gone. As quietly and surprisingly as he had appeared he was gone.
Angela's eye filled with tears as she looked at the rose. Its petals were so white and pure; so delicate and without damage. Her finger traced a small crease letting the sweet scent over take her. Gently she picked it up and it fell softly in her palm.
Yet again she was captivated by its fragility and innocence. The perfect flower.
Her mind raced back to the moment as she ran her painted fingers up and down the stem. His entrance to her office had been so unexpected so unlike him. Yet it felt right. As she had turned to greet him her mouth had dried up by the look in those blue eyes. So full of emotion that it scared her. She had been too captivated to look down as he gently placed an object on the edge of her desk. Then he turned and disappeared around the corner and the moment had hung there in the air until that last glance.
Angela looked up again as another person entered her office she couldn't help but hope for it to be him. But instead she was greeted by her friend's solid stance, Temperance. She watched as Temperance stared at her then looked down at the flower that she now held protectively against her chest. A dark curl fell in front of her face as she saw her friend hesitantly smile. A hushed laugh being released into the air. A quiet laugh that echoed throughout the empty lab.
Angela pushed the dark curl away from her face and saw her friend approach the chair. Still speechless she looked down at the pure white petals as a phrase was whispered into her ear. "A white rose for silent love," then she got up and left.
Angela then realized looking down at the rose again. She had fallen and he had soften her fall with a bed of roses. Each with their own meaning.
Angela Montenegro had fallen for Jack Hodgins.
I hope you liked it. I know it was short but I'm going for short but sweet. Anyway hope you all enjoyed it, please review and tell me what you think so I can improve and make it so you like it even more.
