Note From The Author—So, this year I wrote a short little holiday themed one shot for every category I write in. But to top things off, I decided to post my very first story in a new category. I'm a bit nervous about it, but what's life if you don't take chances? This is very short and kind of bittersweet, but I hope you enjoy.

Disclaimer—I don't own the characters of Doctor Who

He knew how dangerous it was the moment he landed there on a snowy day before Christmas. After all, a Time Lord knew everything about the world and its complicated time lines, and the dangers that could come with messing about in them. But the TARDIS had come to rest in 2003 London, just around the corner from her shop. It seemed like fate that he had ended up there, almost like the TARDIS had missed her as much as he had. So though he didn't even know if she would be working, he found himself drawn down the street, his hearts going wild every time he saw a curvy blonde.

He had seen three girls before he resigned himself to the fact that she simply wasn't there. He had turned to head back to the TARDIS when he heard it; that heady laugh that simultaneously made him giddy and made his hearts break. Whirling, he turned and stopped in his tracks.

There she was; Rose Tyler as she had been before he met her. She was so young and carefree as she laughed with her work mates coming out of their shop, and so incredibly beautiful. He itched to reach out and touch her, but doing so had the potential to rip apart the fabric of space and time, so he kept his hands in his pockets. Instead he just watched her, leaning against the building like any other bloke checking out a pretty girl.

For a moment he wasn't the Doctor; he was just an ordinary man, looking at a beautiful woman who had captured his heart. And even though he positively ached looking at her and knowing he could never have her, he also knew it was all worth it. Because seeing her again was the greatest Christmas present in the whole of the galaxy.
