I remembered the day of my first bike ride clearly. It was a warm July afternoon just a day after my birthday and the sun shined so bright, no clouds was seen. Yesterday Mum and Dad donated me a blue bike to my six birthday but they were too busy teaching me how to ride it. So I took the bike out of the garage on my own. Wheeled it to the street and climb on. The street itself was not very used. Sometimes a lonely car passed this blacktop,but it happened so sparsely that I didn't care about a car accident. I just tried to figure out how to ride this vehicle. My fists were already sweaty clinging to the steering wheel. I had seen my class mates being taught by their parents ,their expressions were excited and afraid but they had enjoined their rides. So I really wanted to do it. It couldn't be this difficult. Finally I pedaled.
And I fell of it on the ground.
It didn't really hurt but it bleed a lot. Unfortunately the bike was wrecked and Mum and Aad were angry about what I had done. They didn't shout at me , they never did, but they had this disappointed glance on their faces making me feel guilty. When they left me after a few minutes darting admonishing glances on me , Helen , my older sister entered the room. First she paced about then she seated herself next to me and asked :,, Gansey, little brother. Why do you think you could handle this on your own?" Without looking at her I answered silently: ,,I can deal with everything. Even if I can't ,it is not worth to deal with."
But now eleven years later I had to regret that sometimes things ,how badly you get along with ,were really worth to focus on . I mean falling in love with Blue wasn't my entire plan actually falling in love with anyone was rather minor matter anyhow I couldn't resist her. I knew I shouldn't chase her. Without this no kissing rule this thing with Blue was crazy. She was one of my friends my only female friend exactly. And she just broke up with Adam a friend of mine ,too. But when I saw her my heart beat became faster, I got really excited and I wanted to be with her all the time. Even if I talked to her , everyone around didn't matter anymore. Just we two existed.
It drove me crazy.
I couldn't handle this love thing thoughtless.
But it was royally worth to deal with.
Finally I knocked at the door of 300 Fox Way.
Calla opened. ,, It's you" , she said .
,, I need to talk to Blue"
She led me in and I ran to Blue's leaping several stairs at a time.
Breathless I stopped into the doorframe.
There she was . Looking out of the window, she turned around when I called her.
,, Gansey , what are you doing here? " Her gaze really confused she went to me. So I reached for her hands and said: ,, I love you , Blue. I really do. And I don't care about your curse. We'll find a solution , together. But I had to tell you that I love you." Instead of an answer Blue hugged me . Her chin on my shoulder, her sweet mouth next to my ear she whispered:
,, I love you, too."
