Just Another Day In Eureka
Summary: As the clock ticks towards the end, how shall it all fall. It's at the end, and all the chips are on the table. Well, you know Eureka; SOMETHING will happen…
As I sit here and watch the citizens of Eureka run around like mindless chickens once more, I smile. For over two thousand years, there had been few people left that were good enough in creating and inventing new things to draw my curiosity, making me wonder at how long before I departed the world of Mortals. Ever since the creation of electrical devices, I'd been boosted quite a bit. However, for about twenty or so years now, people have just been reusing old concepts, or barely chancing upon new ones.
'However', I think to myself as I see the Sheriff's truck pull up in front of the café I'm in, 'this town is a nice change of pace'. Thought up by a remarkable human by the name of Albert Einstein, the small town had grown into a mecca of ingenuity and inventing, and of creation.
Grimacing as I stand up (that leg still hurt, no matter that it had been centuries), I walk over to the counter and pay the curly haired man for my food, before heading over to the door.
"No matter what happens to this town," I mutter to myself as the Sheriff goes past me in the door way, "no matter its shape or form or, as the chatter goes, its soon-to-be shut-down status, Eureka and it's inhabitants will be a constant source of fun and entertainment."

As Jack walked into Café Diem, he noticed the old man with the cane and the leg splint walk past him. Halting inside the doorway, he thought over the man. Not only were the injuries weird considering it was Eureka, where practically everything could be fixed, but he was pretty sure that the name on the man's mechanic's coveralls said "Hephaestus."
Shrugging of the thought for later, he walked over to Vincent. After all, it was just another day in Eureka.
A/N: As I post this, I was watching the end of "Double Take" for the first time, since I missed the original viewing. For those who don't know what I mean, this is the second episode from the end, and the last episode is about to go live. Once a Eurekaian, always a Eurekaian. Long live Eureka, long live Sheriff Jack Carter, and Zoe, Jo, Zane, Holly, and even Fargo; may you live on in the memory of your fans forever.
