So guys this is just a little one-shot based on the cutest little drawing I saw on Tumblr of toddler Blaine climbing a football goal. I know American rules for football are different and I'm not an expert on football to begin with so apologies is anything is inaccurate, feel free to correct me if anything is :) and Revviieeew!

Cooper was starting to get out of breath, thankfully the referee called for time out and he joined his team for a tactics rethink as they were losing, badly. Or so he thought… "Anderson you have got to control your little brother" said the Team Captain. He whipped around to see 5 year old Blaine trying to climb the football net in order to get to his big brother, and halting the game in the process. 'Again!' he thought to himself. I mean he loved Blaine with everything he had but he didn't half get irritating sometimes. As he walked over to the goal to get Blaine back to their Dad, Blaine started yelling "Coooooopeerr!" trying to clamber up even higher on the net so he could speak to his brother at the same height level.

Cooper smiled slightly at the huge grin on his little brother's face. Blaine had always been an attention seeker. He reached the net where Blaine was now struggling to get high enough to even get close to Cooper's height and bent down so that Blaine wouldn't go any higher and hurt himself. "Hey little guy, what is it this time?", "Oh, nothing" Blaine answered and Cooper frowned at him, starting to lose patience. Didn't Blaine understand how important this game was to him? How much he needed this so that he could prove to everyone…particularly their Dad, that being gay did not mean not being good at football or fixing car's or fighting, that it did not mean he automatically became any less of a man so that he could break the stereotype and prove his Dad wrong. He was doing this not just for him, but that so that if one day Blaine was ever in Cooper's shoes and had to deal with their Dad, well he wouldn't have to because his Dad would accept him for who he was because of what he showed him today, that it didn't change anything.

Blaine was now smirking at him, as if hiding some deep dark secret and Cooper looked up at him questioningly. "Well you were looking tired so I climbed the net to give you a little break…Are you feeling better now?" Blaine said tilting his adorable, tiny, curly head to one side and his big brown eyes filled with concern. Cooper felt his throat tighten at the love Blaine had for him. He stood up straight and walked round the back of the net where Blaine was now scrambling to get down so that his big brother could pick him up. Blaine practically pounced on him and Cooper lifted him up and gave him a great big bear hug, squeezing the back of his head as close to his chest as possible to feel that he was still safe, still his impossible little brother for just a second longer. "Much better, thank you Blaine, but you probably shouldn't play that little stunt again, ok…I'll be fine" he assured him pulling him up slightly to look Blaine directly in the eye. Blaine nodded, grinning impossibly wide now and threw his tiny little arms around Cooper's neck. Cooper walked him back to the barrier where their Dad was now waiting, smiling at the two of them. Cooper handed a reluctant Blaine back over the barrier into their Dad's arms that then held Blaine just as tight. Smiling widely at Cooper, Mr Anderson said "Thanks Cooper, I'll keep a better grip on him this time, didn't know he was so strong" he winked, still smiling. Cooper smiled right back and laughed lightly as he waved at the two of them and walked back to his now irritated team mates. Maybe this whole thing wouldn't be so hard after all. Not if he had Blaine on his team.
