Tails hid in fear behind a wall as a blackish-blue hedgehog wearing a mask was terrorizing people.
Tails turned on his communicator. "Gadget, are you there?"
"Not yet, I'm trashing some robots. I believe Infinite is down the hall." Gadget said over the communicator.
Tails nodded, and turned the communicator off. He heard screaming, and he looked behind himself.
Buildings were on fire, and people were screaming and writhing with their eyes closed. Tails felt pity for them, knowing their thoughts were being controlled.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!"
Tails was grabbed roughly by the neck.
He looked up, and saw a smirk form on his holder's lips.
"S-s-Sonic..."
Sonic grinned, revealing razor-sharp teeth. "You pathetic excuse for a living being... give me the communicator."
"Never! You and Dr. Eggman will never win!"
"Like I was even planning to let that obese imbecile live much longer... one more chance. "A sadistic smirk formed on the hedgehog's muzzle. His mask seemed to glow with anticipation as his claws seemed to grow through his blood red gloves.
Tails glared directly into the emotionless mask Sonic was wearing, and he said, "Over my dead body, you monster!" Tails then grabbed hold of the Phantom Ruby embedded in Sonic's chest. Sonic snarled, then threw Tails into the ground. He grinned, and started to concentrate. Tails screamed in agony, and curled up, clutching his head in pain. Sonic laughed evilly.
"I'll enjoy killing you..."
Tails shivered in fear, but suddenly saw two people rushing towards Sonic.
"Its Gadget and Infinite!"
Sonic growled, and suddenly, he was tackled by Infinite. He drew a red blade, and brought it to his neck. "Leave this city alone, or I'm afraid I'll have to end your life!"
Sonic just teleported away, reappearing behind Infinite and grabbing him by the neck.
"Unhand me!"
Gadget then ran over with his Fire Wisp Wispon. He blasted Sonic with the fire, and grabbed Tails. Infinite got out of Sonic's grip, and ran off with Tails and Gadget.
Sonic groaned, and wearily got up. He growled, then looked over to his left. Dr. Eggman flew over in his Eggmobile.
"Did you locate the Chaos Emerald?"
"No. These damn rebels got in my way." Sonic pointed to 10 mobians writhing on the ground in agony.
Dr. Eggman rolled his eyes through his glasses, and said, "You should've just killed them, rodent."
Sonic didn't respond.
Eggman held up a red Chaos Emerald in his hand. "My radar detected a Chaos Emerald in the resistance's base. Retrieve it by tomorrow's nightfall."
"Ok." Sonic started to levitate away.
"Wait!"
Sonic looked back.
"I might as well tell you what I'm planning to do with emeralds."
"What?"
"I'm going to give their power to you, enhancing your power and turning you into your Phantom Form."
Sonic was confused, but the mask covering his face didn't show that. Sonic just nodded and flew off.
Infinite, Tails, and Gadget were walking through the forest that lead to base. Tails was a yellow two-tailed fox that was incredibly smart, Gadget was a red wolf that was with the resistance to stop the war ever since his friends were killed in a run-in with Sonic, and finally, there was the jackal that was Infinite.
Infinite was the world hero locked up in a cell for six months by his arch-nemesis Doctor Eggman, and tortured. Infinite had escaped only 3 days earlier. He was captured when a mysterious masked hedgehog known as Sonic defeated him in a battle 6 months earlier.
"Infinite?" Tails asked. Infinite was his adopted brother and best friend.
"Yea?"
"When do you think this will all be back to normal?"
"I don't know, buddy, I don't know."
Tails nodded, and the three soon arrived to base.
"Did you find the source of that monster's power?" Knuckles asked when the three came in.
"Yes. It is that gem inside his chest!" Tails exclaimed.
Knuckles smiled. "Awesome! Now we can defeat him!"
Sonic levitated in front of the window to the base. He looked at everyone inside it, and chuckled. He then teleported inside.
Tails gasped when he saw Sonic, followed by everyone else.
"W-what do you want?!"
"The doctor sent me to take your emerald. If you don't resist, I'll leave you alone."
Infinite got into a fighting position. "No, we aren't letting you have the emerald!"
Sonic glared, and teleported to Tails. He picked him up by the neck, and threw him into Infinite. He fell down, then got back up. Sonic laughed, then created a pillar of red cubes that headed towards Infinite. He got hit, and his vision was altered while blades and saws heading towards him.
The jackal gasped, and jumped out of the way. He ran towards Sonic, and slammed his red sword onto Sonic's mask. Sonic let out a quick yelp of pain, then teleported. He appeared next to the Chaos Emerald, and grabbed it.
"No!"
Sonic just chuckled darkly and teleported away.
Knuckles yelled in anger and punched the wall. "God Dammit!"
The three mobians looked at Knuckles and facepalmed.
"Sorry, Knucklehead. I didn't mean to let him get away."
Knuckles just got aggravated by being called that, but calmed down a little.
"Let's plan how to stop this war!" Tails said. The three nodded, and went into another room.
Hey Guys! I'm sorry I haven't been updating recently, it's just that I'm not really up to it right now, in fact it took a lot from me to upload this. You see, my dog is gonna be put down in a few days, and I'm in a depressed state. I don't know if I'll be a very active user, but I'll try my best.
