Song fiction challenge from 'La Gazette des bonbons aux citrons', using lyrics from 'Je Veux' by Zaz
Draco sat on one of the dark black lounge chairs in his own mansion, staring at the wall. It had been twelve years since he had left his father's house, and since then, he had become incredibly successful. He was on the cover of all of the Wizarding magazines, earning thousands of galleons a week. His name was practically a household item, with how often it was used in everyday life. But yet, Draco Malfoy was not happy. He was sad, to say the least.
The reason for this? A special muggle that he had met the previous day. The Muggle that he had fallen for. No, Draco wasn't sad that he had fallen in love. He was sad, because she was a very poor muggle. Going with her would mean that he would have to leave all of his riches behind, all of his treasures. His father would be disappointed if he did.
Soon, Draco had decided that he had had enough. He didnt care about losing his status. He loved this woman, and that was all that counted. Tossing away his possessions and turning over a table, he cleared his head away from all of the thoughts of greed and wealth that he had thought of for so long. He had decided that he didn't want the riches anymore, as long as he had love in his life. As he started to gather his necesssry items to leave, a very fitting song came on the Muggle radio that he had bought.
Je Veux (English Translated Lyrics)
Give me a suite at the Ritz hotel, I don't want that
Chanel's jewellery, I don't want that
Give me a limo, what would I do with it?
Offer me staff, what would I do with it?
A mansion in Neufchatel, it's not for me
Offer me the Eiffel tower, what would I do with it?
I want love, joy, good spirit
It's not your money that will make me happy
I want to die with a hand on my heart
Let's go together, let's discover my freedom,
Forget all your prejudice, welcome to my reality
