A/N: This is my Tamaki impersonation ... "KYOUUUU-YAAAA!" *glomps* Ahem, so, I LOVE ANGST. I know it's a bit OOC but I needed to unwind, so I wrote it. Enjoy and reviewz?

Kyouya Ohtori opens his laptop. Opens a search engine. Types the words UKI DOKI.

A quick image search later, the screen fills with little mirror-images of himself. Each mouth stretched into a plastic smile, each set of eyes hidden under reflective glasses.

Really, the resemblance isn't even that striking. How insulting that anyone would think to make the comparison. This is an empty, soulless image, and nothing more. Its kindness and romantic words are only the product of a few over-enthusiastic programmers, feeding words into a computer. Empty perfection, a projection with no substance behind its exterior.

Kyouya Ohtori's mind is a morass of facts, questions, plans, arranged in a forever-shifting labyrinth. True he knows how to put up a bland façade, but underneath is always something … so much something that sometimes it feels like he is drowning in his own mind, in fact, and that's what he has his notebook for, to pour out old excess thoughts and data.

But Kyouya Ohtori has no talent, or inclination, for deluding himself. He is well aware that all his self-preparation is for a future that is next to impossible. All his ambitions will have, one day soon, to be given up, so all his studying and planning … is for nothing. As empty, in the end, as canned phrases spoken through a computer speaker.

What difference would it make, really, to let Renge twist him into the image of her choosing? How bad would it be, to trade one form of nothing for another?

Kyouya slams down the computer lid. Empty he may be, but it will be emptiness on his own terms.
